To sumarize it, it's decent but it's not in the same league as NG Black/NGS....

Heck, I had a lot more fun playing DMC4, at least the score/leaderboard made sense in that game...

That statement alone makes me laugh at the rest of your post.

DMC4 was a fun game when I played it over a year ago but I tried playing it a few days ago on PC with superior visuals and Nvidia 3D vision and I was bored to tears. Bayonetta makes DMC4 combat, visuals and style look like lego characters compared to real life people.

Ninja Gaiden Black is still a classic...but the series hasn't evolved an inch since 2004. This is a lot more inspired and creative than ninja gaiden has been since 2004.

How much have you played Bayoneta ???

The game resolved around dodging, the rest is just random button pushes...

I played over 150h of DMC4 and same with NGS, I can not see playing Bayoneta more than 50 hours or so...

This game is hyped because a hooker wearing leather somehow is more cool for some people..

As for cinematics, who cares ?| After 2 playthroughs most people will skip all of them anyway and all that's left is pure gameplay that solely resolves around dodging at the right frame...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Bayonetta seems like a fun game too bad I have absolutely no desire to play as the protagonist in this game. A hooker in leather with gun stilettos that sucks on a lolipop for life... no thanks. Keep it classy VGC.

Yea....because a deranged spartan who rips peoples heads and uses them as a flashlight ,and a ninja who dismembers enemies are just gleaming with class.

Considering Bayonetta is pure satire and the other characters you listed, which are ok, are actually created as serious protagonists...thats one really weak excuse for not wanting to play the game.

How is that a weak excuse? My liking of the protagonist is very important to me as that is the person that I become in the game. Satircal or not I have no desire to be that character.

I am 12 hours in on my first playthrough. And so far what ive expereince seen and played is greater than any hack and slash before. Few replays later I can tell you what I fully think, but as things stand this has a chance of being my favourite game this gen.

And the game has a lot more to offer than just hack and slash action. The boss fights are insane, set pieces are imginitive, the mini games, little space harrier like flying game, motorcycle chase, the collecting and combining of herbs idea...etc...all briliant and provide variety. Story and music are take it or leave it...but i like them personally.

I think your outlook is a little skewed here. Buying and playing a game is not like buying a car. You don't need to worry about how long will this last you. If you look at bayonetta as a hack and slash and compare it to other hack and slash games and how much mileage you will get from both...you are completely missing the point. The game is a unique experience and absolutely nothing about the game can be described as generic and unimaginitive... And pretty much everythign about DMC4 can.

Its your preferences of course but Ive rarely seen someone miss the point of satire this much. Game isn't serious...yet you are with your opinion of it.

It's not funny. Satire is supposed to be funny. I get what they are going for but it's just stupid if you ask me. Video games by nature are over the top and this game is supposed to be funny by going slightly more over the top? I think they failed to convey humor and in the end were left with just a stupid character.

If you want to play a game that successfully makes fun of itself and yet creates compelling characters and storyline while doing so, go play Uncharted 2.

Just finished it on hard and despite a few flaws I'm incredible impressed with this game. The combat is deep and the game looks great in action, but the bosses are what really put this game over the top. The scale of the Boss fights are simply amazing.

Bayonetta is easily better then any DMC game, but falls just short of NG black for me. Although Bayonetta is great it has a few flaws that stop it from being on NG blacks level. The story... my god the story. Its simply not very good and that's fine NG barely has a story and I don't really find that much of problem in NG. The difference is NG doesn't make you watch a cut scene every 10 minutes. In the beginning the cut scenes are a little back story and lots of Bayonetta flipping around killing angels, which at first was fine but after awhile they felt overdone. Then in the last couple of chapters they get down to telling the story of Bayonetta's past and the reason why she is being hunted, and its not very compelling. With action games game play is what makes or breaks the experience for me, so I'm not to upset with half ass story.

I could probably write a essay on NG Black Vs Bayonetta. I will spare you all and keep it simple, when fighting normal baddies NG > Bayonetta, when it comes to boss fights NG < Bayonetta. I felt like with NG you had to learn how to fight each enemy if you really wanted to be successful and with Bayonetta it all comes down to dodging. With NG some times you had to dodge other times you needed to block or counter while being patient while other enemies required you to be aggressive. With Bayonetta its all dodge, witch time, smash. To give Bayonetta credit this doesn't get old and some how remains satisfying. I just thing NG had some more depth and variety when it came to game play. Boss fights its not even close Bayonetta offers you epic boss fights that are cinematic and fun while NG Black boss fights where not very good. They were hard but you beat most of them the same way dodge/block then swallow drop when you got the chance.

TLDR: Bayonetta is the best action game of this generation and better then DMC but not quite as good as NG Black.

You havent played bayonetta nor do you seem to even want to play it........play the game and then form an opinion......If you feel like continuing your uneducated crusade of BS you seem to be spouting out about this game then by all means do so but, this will be the one game you will regret hating on and I can guarantee you will eat your words once you play and beat this masterpiece.

How do you think it stacks up against GOW.....if you have played GOW that is?

Im asking because you seem to know what your talking about because I had the same thought that with normal baddies NG was great but the sheer scale of the battles (normal and boss battles) in Bayonetta were just too big to ignore....plus I liked bayonettas story better than NG's so thats why I personally would put it higher than NG.

I like GOW just not as much as other people seem to. Like I said for me action games are about game play and GOW just always felt kind of slow and boring when it came to the game play. Where GOW really excels is in presentation, story, and environments. I appreciate those things and understand why people love the games, but in my opinion the game play, while not bad, isn't as good as DMC, NG, or Bayonetta.

I didn't enjoy the story in NG or Bayonetta. The difference is Bayonetta is more story focused the NG. NG cares so little about its story that in a weird way i can forgive it for being dumb where Bayonetta seems to try really hard and offer something that I didn't find very interesting.

Style wise Bayonetta is pretty awesome, and like you said the scale of the the boss fights and some of the set pieces are as good as it gets for these kind of games.I enjoyed this about Bayonetta just not enough to push it ahead of NG and its other strengths.
