1) You posted at 08:33 GMT. That's early morning America time. People will be asleep. Most Europeans would be asleep too, at 8:30 am.
2) Because they want to see the numbers and can't be bothered to make an account. All sites have that sort of Guest:Member ratio.
3) People go on IM sometimes, but usually nobody can be bothered.
