Forums - Gaming - I had an epic fail today

I got Final Fantasy for VC through the Wii Secret Santa (thanks, tehsage), and i had been having some trouble with it for the past ocuple of days. It seemed like every fight, even the simplest fight against the most common enemies, was excruciatingly difficult. I wrote off my difficulty as the game being an NES-era JRPG, back in a time before the phrase "balancing" had any place in the developers' lexicon. However, as i continued playing, beating the first boss and venturing over the newly-constructed bridge, i found that i was not getting any stronger as i leveled. I found it strange, as i had already purchased the necessary weapons and armor. I was growing endlessly frustrated, and wondering how in the hell this game ever caught on when it was so unrelentlingly cruel when i stumbled upon a new piece of armor in the Temple of Fiends (a cap). I decided to equip it, and then it dawned on me...

I had never actually equipped the weapons and armor i had purchased. Stupid i suppose for not checking, i had merely bought them and assigned them to a character, unaware that they did not do so automatically. I equipped them, and started breezing through the enemies

An epic fail indeed. I had a good laugh about it, though.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Glad you're enjoying your giift! :)

I remember a lot of people did something similar the first time they played Ys on the VC, so you're not alone!

Hey look on the bright side.. you beat a quarter of the game with pure strategy and skll( im sure it took lots of strategy)

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
