Forums - Sales Discussion - Wii has it's biggest week ever (1.84 mil) and MK Wii passes 20 mil

Really? For some reason I thought it had like 2mill+ week last holiday.

originally it was 1,838,350... but it was adjusted upward a little bit if I recall correctly (to about 1.9 million) before being adjusted back down to whatever it is now (1.78 million?)

I have the proof here: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=45704

The real story here, IMO, is the dramatic drop in both Japanese PS3 hardware and sales of FF13 (which dropped from over 1.5 million first week to less than 200,000 second week). Looks like the PS3's savior was a colossal dud.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Whoa, I didn't even think MKWii was still selling a lot, I knew it was selling, but not THIS much. 0_o

When it's all said and done, I'll give it close to 30 mil.

I just wonder who will step up.
There has to be one 3rd party game that will be a breakout hit this year. EA Sports Active & Mario & Sonic at the Winter Games were last years hits. I wonder who will put the effort forth this year.

.....Monster Hunter Tri has the greatest chance at some type of million in NA/EU but there has to be something else. Maybe Red Steel 2 will manage some numbers.

What do you guys think?

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Poor PS3 and FFXIII, but this thread is about the Wii and it's biggest week ever.

Congrats to Wii, I really did not expect it to sell this Well in December.

That happens to all FF games.

true FFXIII will not manage the same figures as some of the PS2 ones, but it should scrape 2 million, and if the Japan preview for next week (week ending 3rd jan) is accurate then it is looking ok.

How long have you been here Darth... surely you can recognise sarcasm by now.

Epic Mickey?

Are people expecting it to be successful? Perhaps it's an American thing, I don't see much appeal in it at all.

I wanted to remain on topic, it's obvious he knew nothing about FF games and how they sell and wanted to take a shot, but this thread is about the mighty Wii.
