Unlikely, PS3 shot off its load this year, even FF13, a $100 price cut and Slim couldn't propel PS3 past the Wii, what does it have next year, just GT5 and as we saw with FF13, its not enough, add in the fact that Wii will have momentum from NSMB Wii going into the year, and its pretty clear that Wii will be dominant in 2010, probably by even more than in 2009

 

If DQX hits in 2010, it'll be a huge blowout , with the Wii massively ahead of the PS3



 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Probably not. Wii on the other hand, may outsell PSP...

It will be close, but looking at the games PS3 has definately advantage in terms of software with games like Yakuza, FFv, GT etc. etc. On the other side the impact of price cut and redesign will be greatly reduced.

But im sure Nintendo will secure some games to maintain strong sales in Japan.

Galaxy 2 will outsell Yakuza 4.  Wii Relax may outsell GT5 and Versus.

Hell, NSMBWii will probably be the best selling console game next year unless by some miracle DQX comes out.

Yes.

PS3 is riding the new momentum and has a whole bunch of JRPG's in 2010 already announced. Yakuza 4... Gran Turismo 5 and possibly Versus 13.

It got close this year despite basicly abysmal sales earlier in the year... And Wii is on a downwards trend in Japan, with AFAIK... No big games in Q1/Q2.


Then again... If DQX Releases 2010, kiss this prediction goodbye

I think Galaxy 2 is going to be their Golden Week game.  It's an easy 800k+, which may rival PS3's biggest games for the year (GT5, Versus).

Maybe. Maybe not... The question is, does another 3D Mario game have system selling potential in Japan?
