Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I am amazed how much the Wii gets ignored in the console wars.

"a graphic style that require some artistic vision."

And they consider photo-realistic graphics to be artistic, when any art critic would turn up their noses at that.

Also, they are convinced they can make games like movies, and the Wii doesn't allow them to throw as much flash as they would like. Final Fantasy XIII looks almost like Advent Children, and it only took them about four years to do it.

So it's half lazy and half need to pretend they are great storytellers, when they should be making their games more like games.

"It's not even a difficult position to defend since the Wii has exactly 0 AAA 3rd party games. They can't even say "at least we tried""

Except for Capcom with Monster Hunter 3, which is a hit, and rather than back off, they are porting the MT Framework to the Wii.

Why are people saying the race to second place matters? It doesn't. There will be no difference whatsoever if the 360 sells more than the PS3 or vice versa. They share most of their games anyway.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Beacuse it won and HD fans are having excuses

And they lost $3 billion each. Anyone who cheers someone on after a move like that really has to hate the winner.

I don't have much against Sony or Microsoft. I have a problem with the gaming press thinking that's a good business move.

technology does not go backwards, simple as that.

But war... war never changes

Lower specs is not going backwards. And claiming it's simple shows you don't pay attention to tech history.

Pepole ignore the Wii since most pepole who care about gaming, who likes to discuss gaming, pepole who sees it as a real hobby (and not just pepole who sees it as "simple fun", though that includes pepole who only play CoD and the kind) just don't find the Wii's library attractive to their tastes.

That's a pretty general stereotype.  Considering I (and a lot of Wii owners) have been playing video games since before you were born, I'd say there are plenty of gamers on the Wii that see gaming as a real hobby.  The Wii's library has a lot of great games in it, perhaps just not for teenagers.

Get used to it, its been ongoing since the birth of the PS1.

Even if Nintendo delivers an amazing hd system next gen, there will be a ton of slagging on it, simply because it is a Nintendo product.  Ive run across a lot of gamers that say that they hate NIntendo and they hate the Wii, without giving a valid reason for it. Its just an ingrained hatred, sorta like a gaming version of racism, lodged in their heads somehow, maybe subliminal messeages in advertising? who knows? =)

The Wii won, it won years ago. What else do you want to talk about?

The PS3 and 360 has just 8 million gap between them, oops I meant 5.6 million, so it's more interesting and a lot more fun seeing how they go back and forth each year.

Congrats to the Wii though.

I know. Nintendo has made mistakes, but these people will not recognize their triumphs, and only afterwards pretend they liked something Nintendo did (like acting as though the SNES was Nintendo's best system after tearing it apart when it was actually around).

The aspects of the system other than sales leads? The Wii kind of has hardware and software, even if it's not to your tastes (same as Madden gets discussed by non sports game fans).
