I do remember a lot of the gaming media predicting the release of GTA to be the end of the Wii's dominance.

LoL I just took a look at the thread too. Some people didnt want to believe NPD numbers after seeing how low went the PS360 HW compared to Wii despite the release of GTAIV.

To be fair, sometimes NPD numbers make no sense, even ioi questioned their numbers in that epic thread.

I seem to remember Leo j made a thread about how GTA4 would kill off the Wii at around that time too. I think he may also have made one about LBP killing the Wii.

I just read that thread for the first time. Epic and hilarious. I don't think Hitler himself was so dumbfounded at the end of WWII.

Holy crap that thread was hilarious. I wonder how many enraged nerds actually cried themselves to sleep over GTA4.

As a person who spent a month hunting for Mario Kart Wii, I have to say 20 million is well deserved.

 

Peachbuggy: he also has something like -54k vgc$ which should tell you all you need to know about the power of his observation and prediction powers.

It proves the Wii truly deserves the dominance it has. Why release 10 hardcore games which sell 2M at most each when you can release one Mario Kart and sell 20M!

Its only a matter of time, (SHAMS this )

I predict my biggest and best prediction yet.

GTA 4 will kill the wii, and sales will drop for the system, the 360 will seem like its made a huge comeback and likely outsell the wii World wide (with the exception of japan) as for the PS3 I will say it will fall under the 360 and probably match wii sales world wide.

This all comes with this:

GTA is the game that made the ps2, it will define this gen, and will redeem us of this drought.

The wii is a great console, but not one that deserves these sales, I am expecting that GTA 4 will bring the PS3 up and 360 much higher than halo 3 achieved.

This is my prediction, GTA will kill the wii.



Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
