you should start making regular system backups, in case something happens, otherwise use the PS3 to play games

I guess everybody has a different experience, but I have a 40gig fat that is close to 3 years old, and between me and my son it gets 4-6 hours a day of gamming, on weekends more, we also watch lots of bluray movies and use it as our main dvd player, it plays burned dvds great, no problems. So it gets used A LOT, never a problem, I know about 40 plus people with PS3 because I have family members that are developers for Lucas Arts , only 1 of them died after 2 years , and Sony fixed for FREE. So keepp it and save your money for March. Good Luck.

I don't know why people think the Phat's are inevitably going to die when they have been out for 3 years and the slim has barely been out 4 months. I think that's a little premature to assume that the slim is more reliable let alone much more reliable than the phats.

I agree with everyone else that says buy all the great PS3 games that are coming out within the next few months. There are gonna be a lot of them.
