If this passes the boards approval it would be great news for 3D movies. If it also means higher read speeds, that means great news for PS3 devs. In fact since Sony owns the Playstation platform they could put this into effect immediatly for games. We have to wait and see as many parties have produced higher capacity disc, but nothing has come about as a standard yet.
Man I hope this means increased read speed, because that would make devs so happy. Just think what Naughty dog could pull off with extra streaming capacity.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. so did the capabilities for games on the PS3 just get a little more beastly?
Well, this will definitely help w/ keeping costs down for Sony developers, as they won't have to have a 2 disc Blu-ray game, just having one would probably be cheaper.
kowenicki said: why is this good for gaming again? did we max out the 50gb capacity already? |
Well to point out earlier posts, this possibly might mean faster br speeds. And correct me here if i am wrong, but isn't the slow br speed now the cause of some mandatory installs in PS3 games? So from my understanding, if the br speed is increased, it may lead to less installs on the hd? It's a plus for some of the 40 and 20 gb owners of past years.
