The quarter does seem mostly devoid of first-party releases, but it should only pick up from there. Galaxy and Sin & Punishment in Q2, Metroid in Q3, Zelda, Wii Vitality, and the Retro Studios game in Q4, with some smaller releases sprinkled across all three of those.

That's a highly optimistic outlook, do you really think Mario, Zelda, Metroid and the Retro title will all be out in the same year with no delays? I would say we should realistically expect 2-3 of those games to be out this year.

Zelda (launch 06), Metroid (Fall 07) and Mario (Nov 07) were all out within 1 calandar year (with about 4 days to spare), so if Galaxy were to release between now and the end of June it wouldn't shock me to see all 3 out within the same year as they would need a really big game for next Christmas. As for the Retro Studios game, I have no clue what they are working on, so unless they announce something at E3 for this Holiday release you can forget that making it to market.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I intend to get both No More Heroes 2 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom on release day. However, should I have to pick between the two, I will get No More Heroes 2 and wait on Tatsunoko vs Capcom because I already have a version of that game. I can wait a couple weeks to pick that up where I absolutely need to play No More Heroes 2 ASAP!

If it happens that way then Nintendo has been very poorly managing their development schedules. It was understandable for them to have lots of software in the while after Wii released, because they had diverted Gamecube development towards Wii development for a strong launch.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

wow Jan. 26th is looking very nice

I already pre-ordered No More Heroes 2 and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I paid them all off and I got to do is go pick-up on launch day.

New Year, New Avatar. KARAS rulez!

I don't see why not. The only one out of those that could be delayed is Zelda, but the rest of those pretty much have to arrive on schedule. Retro Studios will have had over 3 years to work on that, EAD3's console team will have had 4 years.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Nintendo has enough studios that they should be able to pump out 3-4 "big" titles for the Wii every year. Right now, we only know of 2 that will definitely make it out this year, and Galaxy reused an engine (so a much shorter dev cycle) and Metroid Other M is being developed in part by Team Ninja, so again not a lot of development resources used by Nintendo.

In 09, Nintendo had NSMBWii and Wii Sports Resort, along with a bunch of smaller (in terms of Dev work and/or sales expectations) titles such as Wii Fit Plus, Punch-Out!!, ExciteBots

In 08, Animal Crossings, Wii Music, Disaster (not in NA), Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, and Super Smash Bros Brawl.

For comparison, in 09 Sony had Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank, and inFamous all within a calandar year along with all their PSP games.

Pretty good month, two big Wii titles and one big PS3/360 game, will give me some fun :D

Way better than last year. TatsuCap's a day one must buy. I'll probably wait on NMH2 though, I think it'll get price dropped fast. Sky Crawlers peaks my interest, but I was sorta turned off by AC6.
