FFXII was one of the worst, but I'd gladly take any RPG from a director with a repatoir of games like that, especially with the blessing and supervision of Miyamoto and Iwata.

Will it be linnear? Maybe. Will it be Good? Who knows. Will it strengthen the Wii and its appeal as more than just a kiddy mini-game fad? Yes. And to be honest, that's all this games needs to really do.

If true, I place cautious optimism in this title and look forward to seeing what comes out of it.

@Rol, I was only kidding about the friends list deletion. That stated, you have no clue how much I hate Final Fantasy X-2. I mean I rank FFVII ahead of FFVIII but in terms of dislike up until FFX-2 there was no game I despised more than FFVII.

FFX-2 took everything liked about FFX and destroyed it. The only character that was consistent between the two games was Rikku. The point less J-Pop cutscenes where horrid, the plot was horrible (Shuyin just happens to look like Tidus, Yuna just happens to find the sphere of him, Shuyin just happens to still exist, Yuna just happens to come into possession of his dead lovers dress sphrere etc. etc.) , FFX-2 would be the equivalent of them making Casino Royale sequel that is a musical Farrely brothers comedy. Awful isn't the word for that game. I want the 50 hours of my life I wasted on that game back. I never thought an RPG with such a good battle system that was a direct sequel to one of my favorite Final Fantasy titles could be so awful. Well at least it had gameplay, FFVII had no gameplay and crappy plot line. That however is another long winded rant

Hey does anyone out there think that the Matsuna/Monolith Wii RPG can beat FF13 out the gate? When should Nintendo aim to release their RPG. They can't battle FF13 so I suggest waiting half a year after FF13's release.

I think it would Astrodust. Developing a game from the ground up on Wii should take less time than it would to produce FFXIII. FFXIII is likely going to be a 4th Qtr 2008 to 1st Qty 2009 release. This alleged game from Monolift/Matsuna should be finished by then.

Well the rumor report said FFXIII gameS, so I took it to mean that it would probably be released some point after XIII but before Versus. Wii games may be faster to develop but this is supposed to be a massive game for Matsuno and Nintendo and it's supposed to jumpstart a series. I imagine, and hope, that they would take all the time they need to make it right before putting it out.

Now I hope more than ever that this woman isn't BSing. It also makes me all the more curious to hear what she has to say about the other Wii RPGs. Like if she knows anything about Sword of Legendia. Honestly, Namco's been extremely secretive with that game since it was announced.

Why do people here listen to surfer girl? Exactly what credentials does she have? What conceivable reason is there to trust her completely unsubstantiated rumors other than you like what you hear? I mean seriously, she just makes stuff up and suddenly it's gospel. Make enough generic predictions a few will come true and everyone will forget all the numerous ones that never did.
