I respect your opinion about PSP x DS in this case but will you choose a RPG for graphics?

Give me some examples (oh, and the PSP doesn't have only quality, even Persona 1 is very questionable)

Quality = Graphics for you? Both systems has bad games but the DS has a bigger number of good RPGs.

Types of RPG still come into it. If a randomer sees a poll like this and despises WRPG's, they will naturally not vote for the platform with the most WRPG's.

And thats your explanation for the PS3 winning?  or is it becuase this is the vgc forum and every poll for anything positive has PS3 winning?

That seems to be the excuse with 99% of things the PS3 wins on the polls. It's getting boring and sounds emo.

The standout must have "exclusive*" RPG's on 360 have been Fable 2, Mass Effect and Lost Odyssey.

The standout must have "exclusive*" RPG's on PS3 have been Valkyria Chronicles, Final Fantasy 13 and Demon's Souls. Now, another bonus the PS3 has... Is back catalogue. PS1 (and possibly PS2) RPG's... A lot of them.

Notice a patern with the type of RPG's though? 360's are mostly WRPG, with 1 pretty decent JRPG. PS3's are pretty much... JRPG. Seeing the site absolutely loves JRPG's... Can you see what im getting at? Sure, PS3 beating out DS is pretty... Shocking. But as for it beating 360, not surprising at all.

what was a typo btw lol i meant "Many JRPG's" in that other post, just sayin'...

And no, quality does not Equal graphics, what i meant by that is that the DS is flooded with sooo many JRPG's not alot of them are good, just... decent since its the depot of quite a few cheaply made ones, in the long run im sure the total of Grade A (Or S if we are rating by japanese standards lol.) JRPG's on DS are vast and far, but there are also alot of iffy and fiddlely titles as a result, just like the PS2 and to a small extent even PSP and PS3.

As for my view on quality, for overall RPG's Graphics + Gameplay (Yes hand in hand) > Story (Only slightly) >>> Controls (Aslong as its doable) >>>>> Replay Value (Chances are most RPG's have this anyway so...) >>> Anything else in between such as music or voice acting or what have you.

basiclly i deem Graphics and Gameplay to walk hand in hand the highest. DS has the gameplay down no doubt about that, i love Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume for DS, its one of my Fave exclusives... however... its graphical power annoys me, and made me enjoy the game less then i wanted since i had a taste of a 3D VP game, granted the 3D game isn't available for PSP but PSP has the power to make a 3D VP game without question or much sacrifice.

 in conclusion... thats the example.

I actually think that there are some biased opinions. I think you should look at every system and choose which one has a bigger number of good RPGs, but some people are choosing their favorite system. Want some proof? Here:

"PC > Every console ever together."

How can you choose PC for this category and put "> Every console ever together"? It's like choose GBA for action games just because it's my favorite system.

So let us say for example I came into this thread and knew for a fact that I prefer JRPGs and I look at the current and upcoming JRPG lineup for the PS3 and see that it is loaded with JRPGs, your saying that even if say I don't like WRPG at all I still need to vote for PC and/or 360 because they have more?

Sorry but I see no sense in that. This is an opinionated poll. What is best is entirely subjective and who has most isn't what counts, what counts is what is considered the best by the one who is voting.

Those whining about "PS3 fans overtaking the polls" are just being childish. They can vote for whatever they like and people need to get used to that.

By the way, I voted for the DS. The sheer size of the JRPG lineup on the device is what swayed my vote in it's favor.
