You are unworthy of that avatar.

PC was easily the top platform in 2009 - many huge titles, dozens of great indie titles, rise of digital distribution and great prices in games.

Pc?I didin't get single game this years (mainly because my laptop can't run them that smoothly, but otherwise only few interesting titles)
I voted for Ps3, but yea, Ds is amazing on sales.

Does anyone else think that 2009 has been really similar to 2007 in terms of console success and what games sold? Just compare the December charts between 2007 and 2009. It's interesting.

I'd say the PS3. But I'm going to break everything down.

PS3 - Showed remarkable growth in sales following the revision and price-cut, it's starting to show a healthy increase in software sales, and it's rapidly closing the gap between it and the Xbox 360, since now it's found a comfortable spot in the Others regions, and is selling the same as the Xbox 360 in the US. Sony is still not too financially stable just yet, but they're in the right direction now. Besides, they had the highest rated exclusives this year.

Xbox 360 - Sold just about the same as last year, software sales showed a remarkable increase, they made good profits. But it's beginning to lose marketshare to the PS3, and Ms must fight for this next year.

Wii - It needs more AAA software throughout the whole year to keep sales from dropping. Also, they should've cut the price sooner, because they would've been closer to last years hardware sales by now.

DS - Still the monster it is, lol.

PSP - Hardware sales are really beginning to die out. Could be probably due to the lack of strong software, and I'd imagine one reason for this is the insanely high piracy levels of the PSP, or simply the DS eating into its sales severely. 2010 should be a better year. Afterwards, a PSP2 is needed, IMO.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I'll have to go with the PS3, even tho mine spoiled this year.

Very good exclusive lineup (and multi) and they made some moves this year to pull them back into the console wars. At this price point it's hard to beat for value

1°) DS-> Incredible hardware sales and 37 good games this year! Excellent year for DS owners. Am I lying? No..

-Avalon Code

-Big Bang Mini

-Bleach: The 3rd Phantom

-Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (The Director's Cut)

-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized (best portable fps, full of action, different campaign from the console versions, online mode)

-Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyan

-Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

-Elebits: The Adventures of Kai & Zero

-Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain

-FIFA Soccer 10 (no, it's not as good as the console versions but it's good for a portable game)

-Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time

-Fossil Fighters

-Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

-Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands

-Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure (pretty hard but it's an incredible 2D platform/puzzle game)

-Knights in the Nightmare

-Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

-Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

-Mega Man Star Force 3

-Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes

-Nostalgia

-Peggle Dual Shot

-Phantasy Star Zero

-Pokemon Platinum Version

-Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box

-Retro Game Challenge

-Rhythm Heaven

-Scribblenauts

-Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor

-Space Invaders Extreme 2

-Steal Princess

-Suikoden Tierkreis

-The Dark Spire

-The Legendary Starfy

-The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

-Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume

-Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's 2009

(I don't know about all released games, maybe I am missing some games)

2°) PS3-> As much as I don't like Uncharted, I have to agre that it's an indredible game, it's just not for me. PS3 had good games this year and hardware sales are growing.

3°) x360-> Good hardware sales but not enough, it had games like L4D 2, Ballad of Gay Tony and Forza 3 this year, incredible games btw.

4°) Wii-> Incredible hardware sales (I am not surprising that it's doing well) and games like Madworld, Punch-Out!!, Dead Space Extraction, NSMBW etc but I think it needs more action games and unfortunatelly some multiplatform titles like Assassin's Creed 2, Prototype and MW2 aren't coming for the Wii.

5°) PC-> Some excellent exclusives like The Sims 3, Empire:Total War etc but a lot of delays (like Assassin's Creed 2).

6°) PSP-> Compared to the DS, the PSP had weak hardware sales this year and PSPGO was a huge flop in my opinion. This is a great system but it had a low number of good releases this year, some of them are a port/ramake (like SMT, Star Ocean 2, Disgaea 2 etc). Gran Turismo PSP was very disappointing for me because it doesn't have a campaign (which makes Gran Turismo what it is) and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona isn't for everyone, this game can be very frustrating and annoying even for a RPG lover like me. Good hardware sales but not enough, software wasn't weak but it wasn't strong either. I wonder where is a new COD for the psp, DON'T TELL ME fps doesn't works on the PSP because Resistence works pretty well and it's a shooter (well, it was boring for me, but it has good controls and nice visuals!).

Feel free to disagree, this is merely my opinion and yes, I played all the systems above.
