^ I think I only bought 2 games about $20
Most of the games are less the $20... and there's a ton less then $10... not including PSone games.
If it wasn't for the PSP GO I would not have bought a PSP.

The DS LL is a product that offers nothing at all other than it being almost twice the size of the normal DSI, and is priced at a much higher price than the DSi, yet it isn't even talked about.
The PSP GO on the other hand has to be hated on.. its not a mistake, its a business strategy, get more money off PSN, and a load of money off hardware. Im not buying it, but I am more than certain it cost them less to make a PSP GO than to make a PSP 3000.

The PSP Go isn't neccessarily "hated on"...it's Sony releasing a product that was overpriced at the wrong time, not fully supported, and not in line with major consumer feedback that's being, "hated on"...so in my opinion that's warranted.

Not fully supported? Most of the PSP game library is on PSN.. atleast the games that matter. Sure it may be overpirced, but in fact, for what you get in a PSP its under priced, you get one of the best portable multimedia systems on the market, for just $169. While you get a DS that only plays games, for $129? How does that make sense?
DSLL is just a DS that has been boosted up in size significantly, and isn't getting anything added to it at all, and people don't hate on it. I didn't see many people going crazy that the DSi completely killed of the GBA compatibility. But ofcourse, lets all hate on the PSP GO because its $249, and even though it offers 16GB of memory, bluetooth internet capabilities via cellphone, and the pause game feature added to what a PSP can already do, but the DSLL is priced not too far from $249 in japan, and offers absolutely nothing more than what a DSi does, and it sells like crack.
I don't know if anyone has asked this question yet, but do you think that the PSP Go will go down in history as Sony's Virtual Boy?
Sony never thought GO would be big, they just want to see how it works out on the market,to see if they should focus on digital distribution a bit more from now on...

not HDD, it's Flash, all you'd have to do, is get a Mem Stick converter for like 4-8 bucks, drop a 8 or 16 gig micro SD in it, put it into the PSP 3k, format, and it would act the same as a PSP Go, with an UMD drive, and a bigger screen while still being cheaper! cha chin! |
People compare the PSPGo to the iPhone because it's all digital. You're right though, maybe it should be compared to the iPod touch. But even then, it still doesn't warrant it's price. They need to take a page out of Apple's book.
1.) Proprietary formats need to DIE! The extra money they make from their cables doesn't make up for the customers that they lose.
2.) PSN. This should be the gift that keeps on giving. Apple advertises the fact that the AppStore has over 100,000 apps, and even shows some of them. How many average consumers know that the PSN has movies, games, demos, music (soon), etc.? Show off the different services!! When a new movie comes out, advertise the fact that it can be bought/rented via PSN!! The district 9/GOW 3 tie in should've been used to push the PSN into the mainstream. Have PSN/Home kiosks at BestBuy/Frys, and show consumers it slick interface.
3.) Price. It costs $3 to rent one movie on PSN, but netflix cost $9 dollars a month for unlimited rentals/streams? Are Sony insane? iTunes is beating them when it comes to pricing TV shows. Nexflix is beating then when it comes to rentals. Sony needs to do things better!!
The price was just for holidays. In March it will drop $50 if Sony is smart at least $75

there is nothing wrong with the go because for each go sold, there making 80 dollars more then they do off the normal psp. and since its cheaper to make a go then it is a psp 3000 they are getting SO MUCH MORE PROFIT.
