Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nomura: "An amazing announcement of a requested GAME this year"

Imagine FF VII remake for the Wii, a game that years ago was supposed to be on a Nintendo Console finally releases after a big moneyhat from Ninty (it would never happen, but just imagine the meltdown)

I still think that it wont be anything huge like KH or FF , not before they finish versus

^ PS3....if you read SONY has rights to SE games created on PS BEFORE the SE merger

So theres no way for a possible final fantasy VII remake to go multiplatform?

Of course there is. I would think people have realized that almost nothing is truly a guaranteed 'exclusive' anymore.

if square remade ff7 and all they did was up the graphics, the gaming industry would shower them with praise and say they are geniuses.

nintendo makes a classic 2d mario game and are called unoriginal

FF7 Remake would be *gasp*... A REMAKE!

What else are they supposed to do apart from give everything a shiny new coat of paint, may i ask?

That doesn't make sense. Why would there be a multiplatform remake if sony owns the title?

Ninja Gaiden II was paid for and published by Microsoft. Ninja Gaiden II is on the PS3.

Resident Evil REmake was 70% different than the original.

Its something like that. Sony own the rights to publish the game outside of JP(EDIT).
If it is just a remake, they will have the rights to the publishing and distribution of the title outside of japan.

If it's a new game, they will not. For instance, EPIC games cannot remake gears of war 2 with enhanced PS3 graphics and release it anywhere in the world Microsoft game studios purchased the rights to publish the title.

The game, the IP and all the content inside it belong to Sony outside of Japan. Multiplatform will NOT get the game substantially more sales. Infact, I still stand by my beliefs that making 13 multi-platform lowered sales of the title. They certainly lost my purchase, for instance. Not many 360 owners will buy the game. less than 600,000 I assume.

So? Does that mean every other remake has to be different from the original game? Other than new music, graphics... Voices? No. Not at all. The fans don't want anything major changing... The fans want voices and updated graphics...

Quit the emo "everyone hates Nintendo" crap, and take it elsewhere. It's getting boring now.

I thought "sigma" made it possible to port the game to the playstation 3.
