since Reggie didn't mention the platform, it could be either the 360, PS3, PC or even DS version.

and NSMB Wii already outsold 3 of those in the US.

so yes Reggie was correct and Keighley got owned.

It would still be possible to outsell the 360 if there was an early January release of a $300 Black Wii + NSMB wii bundle in America, and that was the only way to get a black Wii... along with enough stock to meet demand...

Did you look at the numbers ?

So far : 

MW2 360 NA : 5.3 millions

NSMBWii NA : 3 millions

Last week sales :

NSMBWii : 590k

MW2 360 : 447k

 

No way NSMBWii will pass MW2 before end of january...



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Did you even read my if???  (actually, $250 because of the price drop).

Once the black Wii is out in America, they will be able to sell over a million a week (if they can come up with stock) for several weeks.

No, reggie will not win his bet. It was without a doubt NSMBWii beating MW2 on Xbox360 in America by January 2010. That will not happen. There just isn't enough time. But NSMBWii is beating the MW2 in just about every other way. It will outsell MW2 combined no problem.
