That's what I was thinking of. Include the online multi-player mode in Zelda Wii and make it like a brawl of characters and weapons.

Aonuma's fine, I'd say he the one most trying to bring actual change to the Zelda formula. When he gets more freedom, we get daring shifts like Majora's Mask. When Miyamoto starts overbearing on the project is when we get OOT retreads like Twilight Princess.
I would like to see Koyzumi take over the handheld games again though (he directed Link's Awakening, now he runs EAD Tokyo). I'm tired of ships and trains. :/

You've never played Crossbow Training, have you.
I remember this conversation. You disliked it for..... actually I don't think you ever said

Does it matter if i ever played it or not?
The only reason i own a Wii is because of Zelda Wii. I don't want some stupid crossbow training, i want a full new LoZ game using the Wii's motion controls. Having to wait this long has been bad enough, never mind having to wait even longer because of something i have absolutely no interest in at all.

The idea of him going towards a more action oriented Zelda appeals to me. Maybe it's being primarily a 8/16 bit gamer, but A Link to the Past and the 2 on the NES were the best Zeldas to me by far. Even Ocarina of Time felt like a boring chore that you slog through, and the ones after it just got progressively more chore-like. Probably also explains why I hate Okami so much.
Look at the greatness that is Link to the Past: you're in bed, you get waken up, you walk 5 minutes, you get your sword and you're already in the adventure. Twilight Princess had like really long introduction with a bunch of characters I could care less about, goat herding, fishing, creepy children. Even Ocarina of Time felt like that: collect a bunch of money before you could finally go have fun.SLOG SLOG SLOG SLOG
To hell with stupid puzzles, I want to kill shit! Since when did Zelda really have puzzles anyway? Move occasional brick or "kill all dudes" doesn't really qualify.
So yeah, I hope he takes it back to its action roots and gets rid of all of this stupid "epic" feel and slow boring crap and puzzles every step of the way. What made Zelda epic back in the day wasn't people trying to make it epic, but making the world itself so engaging that it was worth the emotional investment.
It's really too bad Zelda has become what it has. 1 Ocarina of Time was enough, and would probably have a warmer place in my gaming memory if it weren't for the formula being repeated so often.

Way to not read my post at all, which gives my reason why I don't want some shooter game ...or a shitty assed boring slog-epic.
I just don't want Zelda to keep doing down the path of 3 hour intros and that chore-like feeling it has become and I actually used an example of a previous Zelda to make my point.
There were actually Zeldas prior to Ocarina of Time and all the ones prior were really action-heavy.

The difference is... I never questioned your opinion or anyone elses here, whereas you and Khuutra felt the need to jump on mine.

I wasn't questioning your opinion. The only point that referenced your opinion was a picture mocking you. There are elements of the game (final boss battle) that are actually fun and could be expanded on in a real Zelda game. Particularly action elements and pacing have disappeared from recent Zeldas.

I really hope he does try to bring the Zelda series back to its action oriented roots. I was just thinking about how long it takes to actually get going in Zelda games. I figure the point where you get your first heart container is a good point, because usually that's when things start moving forward.

What? I have to collect money?! Oh well, it's cool finally seeing Zelda in 3d and some familiarization is appreciated expected and appreciated, even if the pace has slowed down a little it's still cool because HOLY SHIT HORSE! Thanks for the sword 6 minutes into the game. Time to kick some ass and collect some jewel thingys!
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Roughly 120 minutes (119 and change)

Fishing? Goat herding? Sword 20 minutes in that I won't even really get to use for a long time? Furry yiffmaster Link? OH SWEET BUTTERY JESUS THIS IS LIKE A TEST IN PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE!
Trying to get away from what Zelda currently is is the best news I've heard in a while, I really hope they run as far as humanly possible from the current pacing and lack of action.
