What exactly were you clarifying? The OP and thread title clearly shows that this is about PS3 - 360 gap (we all know that the PS3- Wii gap is greater than 5.7 million) and not PS3 - Wii gap. People aren't interesten in who's finishing first any more, that's a given, the fight for 2nd place is close and exciting to watch and is still a toss up. People love a thriller. And posting unrelated posts apparently.

Does anyone think the PS3 - Wii gap is currently 5.7 million? No, just glancing at the front page or, say, not having lived under a boulder for three years would deflate that theory. Does anyone think the PS3 - Wii gap has shrunk this year as per the OP's statement? No, for the very same reasons as mentioned above. So what were you clarifying, exactly? I know its fun to remind people that the Wii has crushed its competition and all but the Wii's numbers are in no way relevant to the PS3 - 360 gap as far as I know. Just to clarify.

The Wii is on Top and will stay on Top for the generation. There is nothing to argue about. What exactly do you want to discuss about the Gap of Wii and PS3 ? You think this gap can be closed ?

The Wii has not much competition sometimes the Wii sold a little less then both HD Consoles combined but most fo the time the WII stays ahead or is tied. We can talk about the Wii if the sales are getting bigger or smaller. But there is no point in comparing the PS3 or Xbox360 with the Wii. 

The first place this generation is boring. Most first places are boring there is nothing to argue about. I)f you want to talk about the Gap between PS3 and Wii you should open another thread but most people will probably say something like lolwut.

Wand and NATAL are gonna fail. #1 It's too late to try and implement that kind of stuff into the systems. Either you integrate it to all PS3 and 360 games (thus alienating people who don't want to play with motion controls) or split up how games are developed...and just piss off developers who have to make a regular version and a motion control version

#2 M$ and Sony are doing this only because the Wii is popular. But the people who buy Wiis are not the same people who buy 360s and PS3s. The people who buy Wiis want to play Wii Fit, Wii Music, Game Party, etc..for the most part (as evidenced by not only the sales of casual games, but the sheer amount that are on the Wii). They don't want FPSs and over the top action adventure games. Meaning if Sony and M$ want to capture that audience...well they're going to really piss of the "traditional gamer", which is the typical demographic that buys there systems

With that all being said...people need to stop saying that NATAL may be a game changer. Conversely, people who retort "you forgot about the Wand/GEM"....stop doing that as well. Unless you think people are going to spend $300 on a 360 or PS3, then spend however much it costs to get the damned peripheral.....THEN buy a game. Yea....I don't think the casual market pie that Sony and M$ want a piece will be too accepting of that

I think if things keep going the way they are now, the PS3 will close the gap to around 3 - 3.5 million by October 2010.

Assuming Natal and Sony's wand is out by that time...who the hell knows?

Two things:

1. If Microsoft lost as much money on the 360 as Sony did on the PS3 they would have had a few million selling weeks.

2. Nintendo is a Japanese company and their long term plan was make money at the start and keep making money from then on. Do you know they made more in one year than Sony did with the PS1/2 combined.

1. Ms lost as much money on Xbox and Xbox360 as Sony lost on the PS3. I wonder why Nintendo and Sony managed it from nowhere to the top without even spending 1/4th of the money MS did ? And ofcourse MS could have sold 1 Million consoles but they have not achieved it with a price of 299 or even 199 Dollar and thats the point it clearly shows that the Ps3 is not out of the race and the market for the PS3 is there. MS would have to counter heavily with money but I dont believe that they are willing to lose what they already have (black numbers).

2. Umm yes I knew that. What I wanted to say that even if MS has the money they wont cut the price as much as they could because they want to profit finally. Because some people use the money from MS as an arguement but infact MS cant spend as much as they want because the share holders wont accept that in the end they loose the money because share value is decreasing after a bad quarter so even if MS has the money they wont act as morons and make extreme pricecuts. They will moderatly decrease the price just like Sony will do it from time to time so infact there is not much left except natal. Forcing natal in the market will cost them some money aswell. So maybe they wont even cut the price but give away natal for free with every Xbox. Nintendo drove another strategy from the beginning. MS pretty much has the same strategy like Sony. MS has more money but Sony has not as much pressure from the share holders. I read this article why Sony has such a special position but i forgot the content already.

You mean to say that Wii will tend to infinity!? This could tear up Space-Time!!!!!!!!!
