$10 times 60 million potential users = 600 million dollars spent
600 million - (# of people who won't use it X 10) = ???

It would be nice. But I think demos would be much better in the long run.

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

o.O How do you figure it would cost them anything? All they need to do is write a bout of code that sends out the points when someone logs onto the Shop channel.
It won't happen, though. I voted C.
Who needs who wiiware points? We have the vgchartz secret santa event!!!
I voted yes, If I recall Nintendo gave everyone Super Mario Bros (NES) for Christmas back in 07 didn't they? Why didn't they give us a Christmas gift last year? Here's hoping they give us a Christmas gift again this year 1000 points would be nice but I'd settle for anything really. Just show customers Nintendo cares more about us then Sony , Microsoft do. Give us something free when they won't.

kinda what Joelcool7 said, by giving us something like that, Nintendo would distinguish itself from the competition. I really don't care about the 10$, but I would get a warm fuzzy feeling inside if they did that. mmmmmmm....fuzzy
Freebies are good for generating good will, but in this case I'd say no. Maybe something smaller, they wouldn't want to create a tradition that people expect them to follow through with every year.
Refunding points for the internet channel (and making that free) was a good freebie.
(from a consumer perspective, I'd of course say yes, but that's redundant, what else would you possibly say from a consumer perspective?)

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
