Pacini no longer works for RETRO. He left a while ago with 2 other RETRO employees to start his own studio (Armature), which hasn't released anything yet. Supposedly it's a branch of EA. So, what he is talking about has nothing to do with RETRO or what they are going to release at some point down the road.

or he knows it's a definite 2011 release and he is aware of Aonuma's inadequacies at filling Miyamoto's shoes.
Things that need to die in 2016: Defeatist attitudes of Nintendo fans
As far as i know Pacini is no longer s RETRO member and now he has his own studio (Armature) with others former RETRO members, so everything he said has nothing to do with RETRO work
If Pachini is speaking on general terms ... that is fine.
If he is speaking on specifics for a company where he no longer works ... not so good.

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |
While I am hesitent for news of anyone who thinks they have a magic crystal ball and can predict the future 2 years ahead, I still can kind of see where he's coming from. The Wii does seem to be slowing down and 2010 looks to be its 'make or break' year. If 2010 doesn't come out strong with huge third party support and Nintendo has to once again support the system all by itself, then the statements you just heard by Mr. Pacini will come true. Even if a major Zelda, Kirby or Mario releases in 2011.
One game cannot keep a system going for a whole year next to its competition. You can look at systems such as the N64 and GameCube for that.
I do not think they are working on Kid ikarus ...... in fact I doubt that they are working on something concrete.
Saludos!!
