The game is absolutely a success though. I was merely pointing out the downward trend, which I believe would have continued regardless of the PS3's userbase.
Massive Numbers!! Awesome!!!
SE and Sony must be proud. I think in Japan it was kinda hard not to ignore the presence of FF XIII.

I think DQ IX gave them much money in the first week, but even if the revenue was smaller, the profit is higer because SE spent WAY much for FF XII than for DQ IX.
Anyway I expected less sales for both FF (I thought around 1.3-1.4 m) and PS3 (190-220k). I think SE and Sony are happy, I'm not sure this closes the race between Wii and PS3 for the year, especially if Wii ends this week at around 200k.

For consoles? It' is.
The biggest RPG launch for consoles in this generation.
You fail.
It is their biggest game. Batman AA wont have higher LTD. FF 13 just released in Japan. So wait for the other regions. Its their biggest game in this gen so far.
Especially because the fiscal year ends 31.03.2010.

Dragon Quest IX is for DS with over 100 27 million user base.
This is predictable... FFXIII success is more than DQIX relatively speaking.

If you had it a 999k, would you just nudge it up to 1m?

SE doesn't get paid for "relative" success. DS user base is 27 million in Japan, not 100.
