I personally use color coded zip ties. Red is PS3 Green is 360 Blue is Wii Yellow is Tv, cable & sound system. All the cables are held in the zip tie. It takes 3+ cables and puts them into one, admitidly it can still get cluttered but nothing like it would be.

I definitely second that emotion, though I have my own Man Space and don't care about cables anyhow ... my wife does, but me? Not so much ...
