Why does it need too kill it ? Why cant every one just have a little slice of this huge pie and Every one be happy? i personally Would love for Natal and GEM too both do Good, Competition = Good For the Fans . lets hope nether do bad .

They can do motion controls for GT5 already with the dualshock and it would have analog controls for gas and breaking. I believe both Natal and Sony's whatever(PlaySticki?) will fail but Sony should play up the early advantage anyway with good software.

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

Its hard to tell, as of now its all speculation, but I think Sonys motion controller will do well, From what I have heard there is a lot of peolpe and I mean a lot that want a pS3 experience with graphics and dolby digital with a wii like motion control, Sony puts this together it will be a great combo. I'm excited.

I think the main thing that is on Sony side here is that it can be used for every genre. I mean how do you look around in natal.?

Sony motion controller would be seen as a desperate move to counter the Wii remote's popularity and success. It is 4 years too late to do that.

Natal is a totally unique concept that may or may not catch on. Natal uses no controller and relies upon the movement of your body.

For any chance of success the Sony motion control needs:

1. To be priced cheaply to attract buyers around $60.

2. Release  casual games that utilise the Sony motion control.

3. Strong marketing campaign to convince casuals  to buy a PS3 instead of a Wii.

Why do people act like Sony's Wand is just a Wand?

The Playstation Motion Control System is the combonation of a Wand & a Camera. The camera is capable of head tracking, voice recognition, and 3D movment if a devs takes advantage of it. If Sony is smart they will have thouse (3) key features built into the SDK. The Wand itself is like the wii mote on steriods. It has more advanced accelerameters, and gyroscopes than the Wii mote, if you believe what Sony says. It also features a much more interactive button layout. Most of all it takes in a step further and incoperats tracking though the camera.

What Sony's motion systems is, is 1 part more advanced contoller then the Wii Mote, and 1 part less advanced camera than Natal. Together they make what will be the optimal motion control interface available this gen.

Natal should not even be thought of as compotition to the PS3 motion system. Natal is a dated idea that has been tried and tested by Sony over the last 6 years. It is not new, its not ground breaking, and it wont change the way we play.

Playstation Motion controls are not groundbreaking either, and I also feel they will not change the way we play. What the PSMCS is, is a step forward in the proven technology of the Wii, with a the addition of a camera to slightly enhance the experiance.

Off Topic;

What is more interesting is how will 3D in addition to this change the way we view media, and interact with our digital experiance? That is were things will start heating up. Until then Natal and the PSMCS are just some things so Sony and microsoft can get these bottom feeders to see that their systems are also capable of mindless, pathetic, nonsense.

Headtracking only works with a HMD (head mounted display) if not when you move your head your not looking at the screen anymore. Unless they bring some types of physical controller to use in conjuction with Natal, I cant see how they will have a high adoption rate.

Headtracking doesn't need an HMD. You can track the head position and change the rendered perspective accordingly, so that the screen acts like a window into a three-dimensional space, since not all your head movement will take the screen out of your sight cone. The HMD is only needed if you want to render outside a limited frame. Google for Chung's videos.

OT: Natal won't be killed by Sony's motion controllers, because Sony's won't change much the environment it has to survive in: the Wiimote is well known already. Natal is obviously very cool looking and could be a media darling because of the "gee, new" factor, but it will live or die on the appeal of the software implementations.
