My Falcon Elite died after almost exactly a year. It started freezing up and making a really loud sudden static sound while I was trying to show a friend Splosion Man. Splosion Man sploded my xbox :( Great game, though.

I actually avoided sending it back to Microsoft (and letting the cycle of the rings continue) by convincing radio shack to give me a Pro model they had in stock, along with a bunch of store credit (to make up the price difference). Worked out pretty well.

My first was a launch Core, that I sold to a friend (Surprisingly, it still has never had an issue).

My current is a 2008 Elite, no issues.

nope, not once to my suprise as well. I had expect to get it at least once during it's life when I bought it

My launch Pro 360 died after about 1.5 years, paid for it to be fixed, then shortly thereafter MS announced they were fixing the problem for free, so they reimbursed me. When they did, I traded in my refurbished one with the extra cash and traded up to an Elite.

My elite has given me no problems since.
