My Falcon Elite died after almost exactly a year. It started freezing up and making a really loud sudden static sound while I was trying to show a friend Splosion Man. Splosion Man sploded my xbox :( Great game, though.
I actually avoided sending it back to Microsoft (and letting the cycle of the rings continue) by convincing radio shack to give me a Pro model they had in stock, along with a bunch of store credit (to make up the price difference). Worked out pretty well.
