ok guys so i was thinking about it and this is how its gonna happen n shit.

2010 the wii gets a 50 dollar price cut. now sells at $150

natal flops, more people flock to wii.

2010 also sees the release of galaxy 2 which sells 20 million.

end of year sales wii: 100 million 360: 40m ps3: 39m

in 2011 wii hd comes out and all the hardcore gamers go to it

2011 also sees the release of zelda wii which sells 15 million copies

now that the wii is a hardcore gaming system now, it will most likely get the next big exclusive final fantasy title and probably an exclusive metal gear solid title.

in 2012 - 2013 the wii sells a bunch to both casually and hardcore gamers wii drops the price to 59 dollars.

sales at this point: wii: 199m 360: 43m ps3: 48m

in 2014 there is a sales expolosion and the wii gets another 50 million

nintendo drops the price to six dollars.

they eventually get to 250 million.

will this happen?

There's only two ways I see this happening. If Nintendo puts out compelling enough software for it, and the price drops to $100, a lot of people might buy a second system (for bedroom/basement tvs). And/Or at a low enough price it might see huge sales explosion in the developing world (Asia, South America).

It would likely need to be out for 10 years but that certainly wouldn't be a first for Nintendo. NES and GB both had 10 year lifespans.

galaxy 2 sells 20 million copies & Zelda Wii sells 15 mil?... it's not TOTALLY impossible but still very unlikely.

Wii + Wii HD sales might reach that number if Wii HD it gets core third party support for multiplats AND if you can count them as one system, but probably not Wii on it's own... and there might not be a Wii HD, maybe a new gen system or something... who knows
