Who do you think is most likely to enter the console market?

Apple 40 83.33%

Sega 7 14.58%

Atari 1 2.08%

Total:48

FYI to everyone saying Sega and Atari already tried:

Apple did enter the market too, and completely failed, harder than Sega or Atari ever did.

Also... who the **** is atari? "Atari" isn't around anymore, and hasn't been for a while. I don't know who holds the license for the name "Atari" right now, I think it used to be infogrames at one point, I have no idea who, or if anyone has it now. I'm sure I could wiki it in 18 seconds, but I'm too lazy. So in conclusion, there is no Atari anymore anyways...

I'd laugh if Ken Kutaragi (Father of Playstation, CEO during PS1 and PS2 eras) came out of retirement to make a new console that rivals the Playstation. Although I like Playstation, there is no doubt it was better when Ken was still around

... ken is the reason the PS3 is where it is...  Ever since he left, the PS3 has been much better off.  Remember how awful the PS3 launch period was, when everyone made fun of it?  That was all under Ken...

True... maybe it's just age but he WAS good. PS1 and especially PS2 were ahead of their time

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

Samsung/LG
Philips

It is, indeed, Infogrames, but they've changed their name to "ATARI" now.

As for the Pippin, that was 20 years ago, and Apple has changed and expanded a lot since then.

theres no room for another platform and there wont be one untill sony,or microsoft or nintindo stop making a console. i dont see that hapining until at the earlyist after next generation.
the one most likely to drop out would be sony. theyre in the red 5 billion dollars with the ps3 and its probably gunna be in the 2-3 billion at best by the end of the generation. so another generation loosing billions could warrent a drop out. the i would say nintendo because next gen when mirosoft and sony are taking up 1/2 of the casual gamers nintindo could decide to try to get hardcore gamers with the wii 3 or they may drop out. the reason i think micoroft is the least likly to drop out is because the company is so huge. unless the 360 go's back deep in the red and the nextbox looses as much as the xbox 1 it seams unlikly.
so when one of the consoles drop out i think the apple is most likly to take a crack at it.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

Apple is already in the market.

They don't need any other devices than what they have now. The iPods and iPhones are already eating into Nintendo's market share.

Apple is outshipping Nintendo and Sony combined for handhelds, so why would they bother with another device?

Of course, you have Google too, which has Android and that will become a larger market in the future - Robo Defense is going to sell ~20,000 copies this month which shows it'll become a strong platform in the future.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

PS3 lost Sony 4.7 Billion, Sony has more money than that
360 lost Microsoft 4.2 Billion, Microsoft has ALOT more money than that
