Because they didn't get Uncharted 2.

There's these little letters you might be familiar with then: i-m-o. Be sure you use those next time |
It's right there in your highlighted area. My opinion is enough for me, but I keep getting people arguing with me over my opinion, like I'm the only one in the world who thinks there is nothing special about this game. Again, I'm simply pointing out that I'm not the only one who thinks this game is average. IMO of course. (happy now?)
360: FPS audience at heart still. Looks at other games sales. Six of the top 7 games on 360 are shooters for sales (GTA being the only non-shooter). The only other games they seem to gobble up: Capcom (Dead Rising, Lost Planet tho another shooter), Racing (PGR4 and Forza 2 and eventually Forza 3. Tho they are heavily bundled), WRPGs (Fable, Fallout and Mass Effect) along with sports games and music games.
But ultimately most of their games are of the shooter variety that are top heavy.
It's just that simple.
For me personally I was going to get Borderlands as it looked quite fresh and interesting, but my time got sucked up by U2 instead. I doubt that I'd be the only one like this. PS3 is getting a flood of awesome games, and unfortunately people only have so much time and money, so games like Borderlands will be the casualty to that. Thats why launch dates are so important.

But how does this stack up against the PS3?

I have the same problem, I don't have time for games that aren't quite AAA, the 360 is in somewhat of a drought so good multi-platform games will sell very well.
We also have a much better lineup than the 360 as far as AAA exclusive games go, its going to get very interesting over the next few months.

No, no I'm talking about your first statement you should've referenced that. I have no problem with you saying your opinion but I just found your first statement to be insinuating something else or you were just coming off as just bringing down the game in general. So my fault on that one, sorry and I'll admit a bit rude to ya because it's my personal GOTY |
No problem. I should've put it on my first statement. I forgot that a lot of people on this site feel that there opinion is fact, and that is not what I was trying to do at all.

Games that are big in the U.S. but not big elsewhere always have a massive sales difference between consoles. (Since the box has a 2-1 advantage on the PS3 in the 'States). Conversely, games that are big in Japan sell better on the PS3 (Street Fighter 4). 2. Borderlands came out within a week of Uncharted 2. I follow the industry, and I hadn't even really heard about Borderlands until just before release. PS3 owners weren't looking at games outside of the Uncharted 2 shadow during that week. I didn't buy Borderlands, but I'll probably pick it up later. I was too busy playing Uncharted 2, followed by Modern Warfare 2 a few weeks later. Borderlands was caught in the middle. To be honest, I wonder if Borderlands would have received more press and sold better if it were released at the start of December. |
Interesting...considering that what's been released this holiday season.
Actually my answer does make sense. 360 more heavy shooter wise for the buying peeps.
