You Just have to look at my avy to know what i prefer ;)

Seriously speaking i LOVED the celshading style that was introduced in WW, it was special and unique, and i am surprised by some of you not liking Ganondorf, i still think he has the best design in WW, even though i didn't play it.

I was introduced to the Zelda games from the GBA, the first one i ever played was the LttP port, then i played (and introduced the style for the first time with) Minish Cap unlike most of you here.

And i just don't understand the "mature" looking Zelda games mentality, there was never a Zelda game released that looked "mature" or "realistic".
ALL THE ZELDA GAMES HAS AN ANIME/MANGA ART STYLE associated with them, where is "OoT/TP has a :realistic: look " people like to throw around coming from exactly???

Please look at TP Link and tell me he has a "realistic" design or art style..... He looks like a freaking manga design!!

^^^ I think what is being implied isnt realistic as in actual person form, but that the characters and world overall have more of a more... gothy overtone, where WW is very cheery with bright colors, which is often seen in american animation moreso than Japanese. TP is more of the "brooding, angsty" model where WW is the "happy, saccharine" model. WW was great by design, but there was disconnect for many people who got a taste of Teen/Adult Link in OOT, and then are put back into playing as a grade-school age boy.

I remember reading that Miyamoto chose the art direction to make Link young again, as he sees Link as his own son, and the older Link made Miyamoto feel even older.

I wonder if he brought back adult Link for TP because of a lot of negativity towards WW from the community?

Windwaker still gets my vote for best looking game of all time, Okami being a close second... Muramasa might beat one or both if I buy it and view all of it rather than screenshots, but then creating beauty is easier in 2D than 3D for computer generation at least (in real life I would say it is easier to create beautiful sculpture than beautiful drawing... unfortunately game developers don't really get to sculpt characters with their hands)

I seriously hace to beat WW next year,its the only 3d Zelda I haven't beaten.And I agree,TP Ganondorf totally out-badasses WW version!

My thread for teaching VGC some Nigerian slangs

I liked wind waker.it really looked like an interactive cartoon, but I'd love to see an almost photo realistic version of Zelda with a mature theme for gamers who grew up with the franchise, something like assassins creed with Big Bosses and dungeons.maybe one day,if and when the big N releases an HD console.I really believe the Next wii Zelda will be unveiled at next years E3 and I'm willing to bet its going to be 1st person with twilight princess esque graphics.wii motion plus sword and nunchuck for shield, could be awsome.

Because TP wasn't realisitc looking nor did it have mature themes?

Amazing. Definitely added charm to Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks. Very fun visually and made the games more memorable.

For the next Wii Zelda, I wouldn't mind a break, though.

I know a lot of people complained about the cell shading in the Wind Waker. Apparently, everyone really enjoyed playing as adult link and was disappointed when you couldn't play as him in Manjoras Mask. Therefore, it stands to reason those same people were disappointed with the design choice of Wind Waker.

I have to say I do tend to like playing as adult link more, mainly because the Master Sword looks cooler (and has substancial length). However, I will admit that Wind Waker is more true to the first 3 Zeldas style wise. Miyamoto said so himself.

Regardless if you like the style or not, it still beats a majority of games released at that time. It is one of the few games I have honored with my attentions long enough to finish.

Whilst I love both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, I think in 10 years time Wind Waker's graphics will still look good.

The art style is amazing and I still love playing it every year.

I love TP for the darker tone and it's one of my favourite games of all time but I know in a few years the graphics will look dated as opposed to WW's timeless style.
