My guess is it will be a PSP-3000 with 16GB of flash memory instead of memory cards, it will keep the UMD drive it will just have internal storage.

I know whats that about Sony getting something about a new product leaked. Thats got to be a first right?

Perhaps they'll be announcing it at the Game Developers Conference in March.

Majin: Smaller chips == more money for Sony per unit.  Possibly a smaller/cheaper battery as well.

Its probably just a hardware revision.  There won't be "two analogs". That'd be like adding Blu-Ray to the next revision of the 360 -- they won't do it, because the rest of the 360s in the world can't use it!

They are releasing the models to fast, the people will be confused. The PSP GO was a huge mistake. They made advertisment for it now they release a new model. Most people dont even know that you cant play UMDS with the new PSP. What exactly was the reason for the PSP GO ? Nintendo released a lot of different versions of the DS too. But its still one product you can play all DS games on every DS or not ?

They probably thought they can outsmart the piracy somehow. But they should have released a new PSP with UMD drive and new FW and make the Hardware piracy proof. Like they did with the PS3.

They coulld make the same battery system like they did in the GO. Then a little slimmer less battery consuming this is the reason why the GB was a lot more succesful then the Gamegear. And new FW plus a really low Price for 129 Dollar and stop PSP 3000 production. So after a while there would be a big market of Piracy proof PSPs. Due to lower price it would spread fast and they could sell more software for it. And they could replace broken PSP 3000 with the new PSPs.

I just dont understand the marketing of the PSP. Sony made so many mistakes with the PSP. Hopefully they will make it right with the PSP 4000. Its sad to see that a platform with 50 Million Units cant sell software and is dying maybe Sony will learn from it and make it better nexttime.

Naw, their plan always was to keep both types (UMD, non-UMD) going at the same time. The biggest issues I have with the PSP-3000 is the screen and the space available. Its the primary reason I still have the PSP-2000, the screen on the 3000 just isn't good. If they do really good with the PSP-4000 screen and they add some internal space (1-4 gigs) and maybe change the mem card slot to the new mini sony mem-card then I can finally upgrade. 

I dunno why. My PSP-2k isn't threatened just because SONY made the PSP-3k and PSP-GO. FF VII and FF VIII alone make owning a PSP worth it.
