They are releasing the models to fast, the people will be confused. The PSP GO was a huge mistake. They made advertisment for it now they release a new model. Most people dont even know that you cant play UMDS with the new PSP. What exactly was the reason for the PSP GO ? Nintendo released a lot of different versions of the DS too. But its still one product you can play all DS games on every DS or not ?
They probably thought they can outsmart the piracy somehow. But they should have released a new PSP with UMD drive and new FW and make the Hardware piracy proof. Like they did with the PS3.
They coulld make the same battery system like they did in the GO. Then a little slimmer less battery consuming this is the reason why the GB was a lot more succesful then the Gamegear. And new FW plus a really low Price for 129 Dollar and stop PSP 3000 production. So after a while there would be a big market of Piracy proof PSPs. Due to lower price it would spread fast and they could sell more software for it. And they could replace broken PSP 3000 with the new PSPs.
I just dont understand the marketing of the PSP. Sony made so many mistakes with the PSP. Hopefully they will make it right with the PSP 4000. Its sad to see that a platform with 50 Million Units cant sell software and is dying maybe Sony will learn from it and make it better nexttime.
