Forums - Nintendo - DS and Zelda Spirit tracks for Christmas ?

I whish to buy a DS and the new Zelda (mmmh O_O) as a self present.. eheh..

How do you think a base version (the first DS) can cost ? i can't find it in my local stores..sigh

I have not so much money to spend in new VG at this time..

I haven't played a zelda game since wind waker (i love zelda but..) so, i never played phantom hourglass..

But if i'll buy a Ds i'll buy it too..(and then all dragon quest :P)

So, how is Spirit tracks ?? i don't care about reviews, i care about what people say..

It brings the standard epicness and emotions of the serie ? and..

all the worldmap is to quest by train ? you can't go by feet ? i still can't understand the structure of the game :|

Thank you !

Haven't played ST yet, but if you're gonna get a DS, might as well get a Lite, I highly recommend it. It's so much better than the DS Phat it's not even funny anymore.

Far, far brighter screens, longer battery life, faster recharging of battery, weighs less, is smaller (thus more portable), and the design aesthetics are just fabulous compared to the awkward and, frankly, ugly design of the original DS. Besides, they're not officially being sold anymore, I doubt you'll find any that are not pre-owned. Also, more color options!

... You could also just go all out and get a DSi, but if you don't need its extra features, might as well stick to the cheaper Lite. Can't go wrong with this, trust me.

Spirit Tracks is great. I beat it last night. It's better than Phantom Hourglass, which was also great.

Yes, the emotional standard which we've come to expect since LttP is upheld here. It's al ighthearted, fun, awesome game. You cannot, cannot go wrong with Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.

I recommend playing Phantom Hourglass first, but it's not actually necessary and you can play them in whatever order you want.

A base DS should run you about 80-100 bucks, maybe less (like 50?) if you buy used or off of eBay.

@ Cheebe: i have only small budget :(  i don't need a DSI.. but yes, for features you list, sure the lite is better..

i don't know what to do..

@master lol fantastic :P .. is it official or only a cover ?

I dont think Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass have the "standard" epicness and emotions of the seires, they lack several things i think there are much better titles to start your DS collection with

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

@Khuutra: Thank you ! that is what i want to read, simply you mentioned LTTP

that was my first zelda and i love it above all (then i love OOT)

But .. the train ? i'm NOT disappointed about the train, but.. you can't quest on feet ?

and you have to go through the world only with that ? only on railroads ? O_O

Then, you arrive near a city, or station, or a temple, and then you get down the train ?

Then I recommend just waiting a little while longer, try to save up a bit, 'cos a Lite is definitely a vast improvement over the original DS. You'll kick yourself if you get a DS Phat and realize how much better a Lite would've been, trust me, I have both.
