Wasn't the gap over 8 million before the price drop?

The gap according to other media sources/tracking sites indicated there was only a gap of 7 million between PS3 and 360- 4 months ago. According to the article only 1 million of the gap has been pulled back over the 4 months. Bringing it down to 6 million 360 lead over the PS3 and falling. 1 million or so more
VGChartz numbers had a 8 million gap which is now down to 6 million. 2 million of the lead disappeared in 4 months. The gap should fall an extra 1 million before the end of the year bringing the gap down to 5 million lead.
The reality could indicate the PS360 sales gap is now only 5 million. I hate to admit that and it is likely to fall an extra million before the year ends. 4 million PS360 gap by end of 2009.

The funniest part about this map, to an American, is that a significant part of the rest of the world believes it has some merit. Anyone who has ever actually lived in America would realize that, outside of the most ridiculous of rural locations, the average US citizen is the US government's own biggest critic. Don't mistake the actions of the powerful and rich as indicators for the personality, or intellect, of a nation of people. I find your map deeply ironic, considering how certain powerful governments like to condemn entire nations, based largely upon their leadership, to the rest of the world. Don't stoop to that kind of behavior, Kantor -- you're brighter than that. |

"No matter the exact figure, Harrison says Limbaugh's weekly audience eclipses all other nationally syndicated personalities, including conservatives Sean Hannity (13.25 million), Michael Savage (8.25 million) and Laura Ingraham (5.5 million), according to the magazine's "rough projections."
"*** "The O'Reilly Factor" had the largest viewership, with 3.1 million viewers, and was up 37 percent from a year ago"
Not to start a political fight, but just because the biggest douches have mics and money doesnt mean there arent buttloads of people who allow them to have mics and money by tuning in

Naturally, very few people actually believe in that thing. Though there are stupid people in America, like every other country in the world, for some reason stupid people in America get a lot more attention: all those videos that show interviews of random people in the street in America who think the Eiffel Tower is in Australia and haven't heard of the United Kingdom.
I was exaggerating deliberately because it is true that many Americans place their country on a pedestal above everyone else (from personal experience). And in the case of video game sales, they ignore other countries completely. It's partly because they only have "reliable" data for the USA, but when they don't even mention that it's only the USA they're talking about, that's getting ridiculous.
I doubt PS3 sold 500k more than 360 in December let alone November.
We know 360 was +100k in America, and we know PS3 was probably ~+150k in Japan, so America+Japan=PS3+50k. The major remaining market is EU, personally I doubt PS3 won by more than 300k there, but my guess is 200k. So worldwide it's maybe 250k more for PS3.
All this will come out when Sony and MS release their worldwide quartery shipment numbers for this quarter in Jan-Feb. I bet PS3 will win by 1m tops, which is only 333k per month, so yeah, +500k in Nov, no. Vgchartz is just doing their usual pro-PS3 number fabrication in the meantime (according to them PS3 won Nov in the states too lol)

Why would people even mention that it's only America in a story about ********NPD****** you doof.
From the looks of your logic skills, it's not America with the ignorance problem. Case in point whenever I go on youtube and look in the comments, half the time it's arrogant Europeans trashing "fat stupid Americans".
Also nice that I've seen people banned on here for "bashing" Japan, but bashing America here is the norm. If anybody posted a map like the above making fun of Japan, they'd be banned. Unless they were a PS3 fanboy and the post was siomehow bashing Xbox...
Aww, poor widdle baby PS3 fanboys in this thread lol.
Face it guys, PS3 will always be doomed. I mean, really it sold good in Nov. 700k, up almost 100% from last Nov...yet all the media coverage was negative about it. That's PS3, cant win for losing. Even when it wins, most people see it as a negative (it didn't win by as much as it should have!). Sony should just scrap the huge money loser of a project already.

I'm not bashing America. I'm just saying that it's illogical to only count NPD, when America is less than half of the worldwide market. If a website doesn't want to use VGC, that's fine, but they really should point out that NPD only has a limited data sample: it only tracks sales in the USA.
As an aside, I do have many American friends, and like Japanese people, Americans are very...patriotic.

If you want to do a nice easy global sales comparison here are the VGC numbers:
| Console | PS3 |
|
Total
|
1,734,034
|
minus
| Console | X360 |
|
Total
|
1,381,088
|
equals 353K
So it would seem the sixthaxis has used erroneous figures, or bad mathematics. There has been an adjustment in the Americas on VGC reducing the November gap from 35K to 5K in favour of the PS3.
VGC is only 20K above your monthly average guess, so VGC must be disgustingly biased in favour of the PS3. Yes they were really showing their abominable PS3 bias this time last year. And how dare they under-represent the Wii numbers. Wii is obviously selling hundreds of thousands more than those VGC fabricators are making up. How about you just come out and say ioi and The Source are liars?
And no we don't know 360 outsold PS3 by 100+K in November. We know that's what NPD data says, but they estimate too. So don't just assume that NPD data is 100% correct and any apparent discrepancy between NPD and VGC is entirely an error on the part of VGC. I think time has shown that VGC data has a pretty low differential when compared to official shipping figures coming directly from the manufacturers.
