Forums - Nintendo - "Zelda died because we can't animate a skirt" - Aonuma

Hahahhaha, I love this guy. Every week without fail he says something else hilarious either about a classic Zelda, Spirit Tracks, or the upcoming Wii Zelda.

This has to be a joke. I'm sure the skirt thing is either 100% lulz, or 1 out of several factors, but it's the only one he's bringing up because he thinks it's funny and he's playing off Miyamoto's joke.

For New SMB Wii the reason there's no Peach is because all the characters need to be the same height, or else everybody would be bitching and whining about who gets to be Peach, just like they did with Oddjob and Jaws in GoldenEye. Huge advantage or disadvantage based on height.

And even IF this is 100% true, then it's still awesome and hilarious, because now we get an awesome ghost Zelda who takes over giant phantom bodies to kick ass with. Is anybody going to complain about that?

love ur avy

What you think it's about animating the skirt. No people you got it all wrong. The reason they wont to animate her skirt is because they don't want people to move her in ways that her skit will fly above her waist. duh

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Ok, that's not lazyness, that's justy eccentric. Very VERY eccentric, lol.

I LOVE ICELAND!

What the heck, I've not played Spirit Tracks yet, but I've SEEN video clips where Zelda appears, alive and wearing a skirt! Just go to youtube and search for Spirit Tracks trailers.
Plus, doesn't she wear a skirt as a phantom as well???

Some people really must be looking for a chance to call Nintendo lazy XD.

That's right, I think everyone here is misunderstanding him, I don't think it's a joke, it's just that they didn't want a dolled-up princess in a dress to accompany Link all throughout his adventure, battling enemies, running around through dungeons and whatnot. That wouldn't fit and would become cumbersome. It's got nothing to do with the difficulty of programming dress-related stuff, 'cos she does appear in-game both alive and dead, WEARING A DRESS! But whenever Link goes into action, she becomes a small ball of light and invades a huge hulk of armor. That's something that fits in the context of the game and the protagonist. Big hulking armed metal warrior>>dolled-up princess wearing a long dress.

You both are such bad liars. I just booted up the game, and she only wears pants.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
