rocketpig said: There haven't been many revolutionary games this generation, period. The ones I can think of right off the bat are Portal and Nintendo's "casual" line of Wii games. PS. I'm not including PSN and XBL games. There have been a few revolutionary offerings from developers of smaller games. I'm also not including handhelds because I just don't feel like listing all the weird games that have been offered on the DS/PSP. In short, I think it goes Nintendo>Western devs>all other Japanese devs |
The poll wasnt about revolutionary games though.

Is there another list(too lazy to check)....but the recent one is definitely fair...hes listing games coming out next year... |
The list that you edited about japanese games, also has games coming out next year ;)

Of course Japan makes better games.
Look at the greats!
Nintendo
Sony
Konami
Capcom
Tecmo
Square Enix
Let's not even get into all of the small developers either.

just thought I'd point this out.... you realize the entire Metroid Prime series was made in the US, right? That Retro Studios is in Texas?
This is a silly discussion, at this point, since many of the posters don't even appear to know where some of the major titles in their "lists" were created.
only one game i have was made by japanese developers, and i find it quite weird sometimes
"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"
"England expects that everyman will do his duty"
"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

But it also has games that are also released also meaning the person is trying to say that japan wins because of unreleased games.........your really not thinking this through seph.
N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

No...games in white are games that have already been released.....wait are we talking about my white or your bolded white? |
I don't know. I was just saying that Bayonetta got several scores over nine, and FFXIII got a Famitsu score of 39. You had them as unreleased that is all I changed

But how do we know if those games are even good if only the japanese played it?

We're going around in circles :P S.T.A.G.E also said that western developers wins this gen and listed games that are coming out next year, like GOW III, Alpha Protocol and Mass Effect 2.
I'm not saying that either list is correct, if we are going to compare in this particular gen so far, we should only use games that are released, yet I was only pointing that out due to fairness.
And that's my point in this discussion ;)
