They're very pleased with PSP Go sales? How can anyone take anything he says in that interview seriously after reading that comment?

espacially knowing the fact he works for Sony. They know nothing.

Yeah I'm beginning to believe that might be true.

So you honestly believe that they're very pleased with the PSP Go's sales?

I can only go by what they say, you do know they are making tons of money of that thing.

You don't have to only go by what they say, you're allowed to use critical thinking, even when it's about statements from a rep of a company you're a fan of.

To me the sales are disapointing, but if he says he's happy with it, what am i suppose to say?

what did you expect him to say?

"yeah the PSP Go pretty much failed. We really need to get the PSP2 out soon to compete with the Nintendo DS, because we are getting our ass kicked in every region by this little thing right now"

I don't think so. People pick up the PSP 3000 over the PSP Go. I really think they wanted the PSP Go to push the PSP just like the slim pushed the PS3. Okay maybe not that big, but they expected much more from this.

other than that:

we already knew the PS2 is a success. Nothing new here.

It is funny to read that Natal really needs the software to be a success. Okay that simple fact is true, but MS already showed us something. On the other hand you don't hear anything like this for Sonys wand. Okay, there is this RE5 DLC that but that is it so far. And the wand should be out before Natal launches. Is there anything big for the wand like MS integrating Natal in Fable III or creating Milo and Kate?

about the PSN:

Sure it is growing, but I really want to know if it makes a profit or not. Compared to Xbox Live, Sony is either losing a lot of money on the PSN or MS is making a lot of money on Xbox Live. The paid subscription that is about to come indicates that Sony really needs more revenue to run the PSN +/- 0 IMO. To charge game developers for putting something on the PSN is another point. Sony needs more revenue for the PSN if you ask me.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

How much is Sony spending on all these iterations? Re-designs cost alot of money, and they launched both the PSP GO and PS3 slim at the same time...so I can't imagine them launching another handheld in 2010...

"...You can't kill ideas with a sword, and you can't sink belief structures with a broadside. You defeat them by making them change..."

- From By Schism Rent Asunder

Im less in the camp that the executives of the console manufacturers are arrogant, I feel that the statements they make are more a product of their being insular and hanging out too much with people whom think the same way they do, laugh at the same jokes, play the same games etc. I feel that this article proves that he is no exception to this effect and is very much in the 'Sony camp' so to speak.

Unfortunately this means that he appears to lack perspective about how people from our perspective may see things. Which means of course every single Sony game is the best game out there and every product Sony produces is the best product out their even when reality is starkly different. It takes a pretty insular individual to discount the Wiimote and Nintendos ability to execute on the game design and ignore the difference in hype between the Sony wand and Natal which as he is in charge of marketing is most disenheartening for me.

One other thing I pulled from the article is that the Playstation 3 is really just riding the coat-tails of the Playstation 2's success. I don't particularly believe that Sony have yet outperformed the other console manufacturers this generation except in their willingness to write big cheques to pay back for their belief that consumers were willing to pay more for high technology. I understand how success blinds the successful, but whats his excuse?

TROUBLE?  Buh Ha ha!!  I love these people convincing themselves over "How much different" thier copying thier competitors ideas is going to be better than or give you more than whats out there.  "REALLY"?  How much different can I swing a controller like a baseball bat or tennis racket or point at the screen like a gun and use it "Heaven forbid"  like a controller..  Listen Sony and Microsoft  I wish success on every "new" (lol)  idea you bring to market.  The Sony wand can become (main stream) if you pack it in the box and like your competitor sold seperately (packed)with a game that uses it functions.  Camera motion controlls are limited to one player swinging repetively the same way.  Dont make me ask, "Why do I need this?"  Make me feel,  "How did I ever game without it?" Keep it affordable and "Show" me the games "nothing short of Holodecks" That will make want to stand up and play (on you system).  PSPgo is a GREAT idea but to early (since I'm not forced to down load only on a market that YOU[manufacturor] dont fully controll )"yet". Trouble?  I hope so.

Natal is nothing more than an upgraded EyeToy...So I wouldn't necessarily call it the most imaginative accessory known to consoles, because it's been done already, just not to the same extent

Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

What I got from reading the article was that the PSP Go wasn't mass produced and cost little to put on the market, so it was basically an easy money maker and a way to push PSN use. I got the same thing from the Motion Control's, maybe it's just there to stall competition a little and attract a few hundred thousand people to the brand, but it's not on the top of their thing's to stress about list. If anything it might be an eyetoy stretch instead of a full motion control bonanza with all game's using the tech, new console design and what not.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Interesting.

Oh, and im so glad that troll got banned finally ¬_¬

If they get the right games for the motion control, it will sell.

Look at EyePet sales, while it hasn't yet exactly hit the big numbers... It's lowest sales so far, were its first week on sale. It's games like that, that Sony need for the remote to be a success. Of course, along with some core titles!
