Forums - Gaming - How well do you expect the next Killzone and Resistance games to sell?

killzone 3 with offline mulyiplayer automatic 4+mill and resistance will prob do more than 1.5 mill but that game is too overshadowed so that'll be its magic number from here on out unless it blows our flippin minds away with somethin cool lol

The £20 pricetag does tell me something.

It tells me that many people enjoyed the game and that as a result it was eligible for platinum status.

I don't even know if they'll bother with a third Resistance. I think Insomniac are keen for new ideas now. If they do bring one out, I'd expect 2mil LTD, unless they massively revamp the series with a darker direction and more emphasis on horror.

If Resistance 3 steps up, it could potentially manage 3 million. If they continue down this horrible derivative path, 2 million if it's lucky.

Killzone 2 had two main problems: It launched in February, and there was bad word of mouth. If they (and it pains me to say this) make the game easier to learn, and launch it in the holiday season, 3 million+ with ease. Otherwise, similar numbers to KZ2.

If it carries on down the same path as res2... res3 wont get anywhere near 2 million.  Even at 1.7m res2 has got way more than it deserved.

A metacritic of 87, a generous coop campaign and now the great value platinum price of £20, and you have the cheek to say it sold "way more than it deserved".

Unreal.

Shoddy graphics, derivative gameplay, removal of everything that made the original...original, and broken multiplayer, and you claim it sold less than it deserved? And considering I can get LBP for less than £20...

Funny that you mention Unreal, because UT3 is a much better game.

dont worry, he probably didnt mean it... he just saw a post by me and he automatically has to post the gainsay.

Yes, I suppose that's normal.

What isn't normal is that I'm agreeing with you.

It scares me.

I would rather have GG make the game run 60 fps this time instead of actually making it look prettier. If the game runs smoother, lag free and if the controls were just a tad bit tighter while still maintaining that heavy feeling, the game will be immensely successful! I mean, if you think about it, KZ2 was a nearly flawless shooter. It's only problem was the lack of offline multiplayer and the controls (which I was fine with) that the average gamer could not adjust to.

Firstly, I didn't once say it sold "less than it deserved". I really hate it when people put words in my mouth instead of dealing with what I actually posted. I objected to the idea that it sold "way more than it deserved". I think it sold fairly.

Oh, and don't flatter yourself, Kowenicki. Really hate how if you're a PS3 fan on this site and you say that you particularly enjoy a PS3 exclusive, it must be for forum purposes - it couldn't possibly be that it's just one of my collection that I've got the most hours out of. Still, thanks for ganging up. Yawn.

There was a question mark.

I suppose it did sell fairly. Perhaps a little more than a game which ruins a perfectly good premise and makes the series a poor attempt at Halo/CoD deserves to.

Resistance needs to step up or if it doesn't i think it will get cut. KZ3 will probably sell 1 million more than the second 1.

Don't get me wrong: the series took a wrong direction with the second - I have better memories of the first - but there are still things worthy of merit in the second, especially the coop and some of the weapons (Splicer and sexier Auger, YES).

you told me when I sent you a long message on your Resistance 2 review you didn't even play Resistance FOM...so how would you know what is original and what isn't broken from the first one? I really don't understand why you hate the game rather than just not like it...your quite known  here for your R2 hate
