According the the website traffic tracker alexa, the gaming website IGN has experienced a severe decline since early 2008, in fact, it halved from its peak point in early 2008 to early 2009, then it halved again effectively making IGN about 1/4th as popular as it once was.
The website has become out of touch with the general gaming public. Their Nintendo chief editor, Matt Cassamasina seems to be writing up a bunch of weird articles that seem more suitable for the website Sony Defense Force rather than any major Wii website. I think this is probably a major factor in driving away a gigantic portion of the websites audience, and ultimately not just dropping the website out of the top 50, but out of the top 200 most visited websites altogether.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
