mass effect 2 hands down.
Long Live SHIO!
I'd go FF13. I wasn't a big mass effect fan. Though i like shooter RPGs.

ME2.
I plan on buying XIII on day one but I've never played a Final Fantasy game so I don't know what i'm missing. I know what i'm missing if I don't play ME2 though. Plus, ME and Bio-Ware games in general have a very story driven style that I find similar to how JRPGs are structured so ME2 will probably be able to scratch both genres at once.
Wow @ the guy who said Bio-Ware was a mediocre developer
Another wow @ the guy saying KOTOR2 was a cookie cutter copy of KOTOR1. Have you played KOTOR2? The characters and story of those two games are like opposite ends of the spectrum imo. To me it felt like Obsidian decided that rather than trying to out Bio-Ware Bio-Ware, they were going to take the game down a decidely different path. Whether you love that path like me or you think they made a wrong turn, I don't know how you can say one is a cookie cutter copy of the other.
All about FF13.
Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.
PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E
Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Are you serious? Do you actually expect anyone with half a brain in the gaming world to think that Mass Effect isn't a timeless classic? ME had so many flaws you could write a list about it easily and it still walked off with 9.0's and RPG of the year 2007. Mind you, lost Odyssey came out the same year and that was a great RPG with less technical problems. Still to this day it's one of the most successful JRPG's. I finished Lost Odyssey way faster than I ever did Mass Effect. Mass Effect quite simply put is the most epic game of this generation. No gamer has ever surpassed it and the fact that you control the triology makes its dominance even apparent.

Mass Effect is an RPG. Definitive. The game is nothing but choice, RPG structure and more. JRPG's are linear. You have HP and MP which eventually has to recharge itself if you're biotic. Mass Effect has cover shooting. FPS=First person shooter. Mass Effect isn't an FPS game and most RPG's that I know of are in third person just like Mass Effect.

What console RPG this gen do you know where you can effect the world could you bring over that world into the new game untouched? That is revolutionary.

Now that's not entirely fair. NWN2 was Obsidian, and they're better than BioWare |
Obsidian is better than Bioware? Yeah....I dare you to put up Alpha Protocol up against Mass Effect 2. Both will be great, but Mass Effect is worlds beyond Alpha Protocol from where I am standing. Both are better than most JRPG's coming out next year.
Mass Effect 2. In the last 12 years the only Final Fantasy games I've liked are FFIX and FFX. Over the same period I've liked every Bioware RPG I've played.
