I just finished it as well.

I didn't think it was amazing. Pretty good, but there were a lot of crappy parts (the vehicle part when you went upriver was only slightly preferable to banging my head against a wall), and the graphics weren't as crisp as some games now (although I don't hold that against the game).

Yeah, Graphics are meh, I mean just look at Uncharted 2! It blows it right out of the water.... pathetic really :/

*COUGH* Game came out two years ago!!! *COUGH COUGH COUGH* hmm what were you saying?

The original Uncharted is highly over-rated. The gunfights are about as one-dimensional as they come. The game has amazing graphics, decent story, and the climbing/platforming parts are undeniably excellent, but the gunfights, which make up an amazing 70 percent of the game, are simply boring, unfun, and completely and utterly repetitive. You don't shoot people in the leg to wound them or anything strategic, you just put 5 or so bullets in each guy, anywhere, and they fall down. The final boss battle is particularly offensive. Plus, the gun never looks like it's pointed in the right direction.

Besides the 70 percent of the game spent in firefights, the game actually is pretty good, and good enough for me to award it an 8/10 overall which really does speak well for the presentation and platforming sections considering how much I loathed the shooting portions.

Now, Uncharted 2, OH YEAH BABY, man, that game shits all over the first one.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I loved the first one, the graphics are still better than most games released this year and has better character vibrancy than pretty much any game ever, except for maybe U2. and a few others. All this is my opinion of course but it's so easy to just play the game because it's challenging on the hardest difficulty and your rewarded with awesome cut scene after awesome cut scene. I didn't mind the gunplay at all, I got used to it and was able to kill enemies real quick, it's just different that's all. You don't just shoot bullets into the chest (well you can but...) you gotta challenge yourself and if you don't challenge yourself then what's the point of playing the game?

Play Uncharted 2, and you'll never want to LOOK at the original again.

Regarding that plot twist: I think that is what will make the first Uncharted legendary.
Uncharted 2 is better in many aspects, but the story was much better in the first one.
