Don't get me wrong, I love Uncharted 2 and is probably my GotY, it's just the VGA's are probably the worst gaming awards out there.  It's a,what, 2 hour advertisement with the occasional award thrown in.

A was busy last night so I didn't watch this years but last years was just an epic tragedy.  They didn't show the awards so they could show a bunch of people we don't care about, Kim Kardashian introducing Dante's Inferno sayhing It's a book or something with a disgusted face as the thought of reading, and just so much more.

I'm assuming this years was every bit as much of an embarrassment.

 

 

It was better this year, only because like you said, last year was a disgrace.

 

It's still utter trash though, lets face it, we only watch it for the "exclusive world premiers"

Exactly, regardless of how shitty it is, you can't deny valuable recognition that Uncharted 2 got from winning the VGA GOTY award.

Video games need a GOTY awards like the golden globes or the academy awards. Actual industry journalists or industry players voting on what's the best, technically and everything else. The VGAs are about as credible as the Nik Kids choice, or MTV awards. As voted by the public is rubbish. Even though they sometimes get it right, even when they get the GOTY right like this year the public still mucks up by not giving the GOTY the award for best in genre...Stupid!

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

Well first off, it isn't really about size of the show.  The show can be huge and worthless and still be worthless (as an award show at least) but to answer your question-- The Game Developers Choice Awards.
