If it looked a little something like this it would be sweet.

Hi!

Imagine you 2 years later. The new HD Nintendo system just being released, and Nintendo is having a conference to collect all the suggestions of the fans for a new 2D Mario game. Nintendo is unveiling a brand new game with 200 new levels, online option, multiplayer, achievement system and new storyline.

What would you want to see in this new Mario opus?

You basically already hit on what my perfect Mario game would be - insanely long.  I want to not just have 8 worlds, but more like 64.

(One idea I once had for how to have so many worlds, but still keep the game very playable is that every time you play a new set of  8 worlds is randomly chosen from the available pool, so its still an 8 world game, but you don't know what those 8 will be till you play)

And make half of them retro worlds, containing levels from previous games.

And have every power up ever featured in any previous 2D mario as well as some new ones.

And keep multiplayer, but distiguish the characters ala SMB2.

I'd want something a bit different really , a new evoloution for the series.

Two years from now the next Nintendo console wont have been released yet.

HD is pretty useless for 2D Mario, as is online, and story and achievements

Just give me a new 2D Mario with new levels and new powerups and local multiplayer and it'll be awesome, not to mention it'll sell a ton
