Ive never actually once owned a portable console but ive decided to get one , im going to be getting it early next year with some of my left over christmas money during the january sale. Im going to be buying an older model because the psp go just seems a bit pointless for its price.

So my big question is what are the best games? the games i curently like the look of are little big planet psp , motorstorm arctic edge , resistance retribution , patapon and loco roco . So what other games are there out forthe psp ? 

I also want to know what good games are coming out for the psp next year because apart from resident evil portable i dont know any . 

God of War: Chain of Olimpus, LBP, Resistance retribution, Crisis Core, Gran Turismo.

You should just rent PSP games from Gamefly or something. PSP games don't exactly offer a ton of replay value.

Some MUST haves that I have played:

Castlevania: Dracula X (Includes unlockable Symphony of the Night)
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters is a good buy as well.

I would also suggest Star Wars: Renegade Elite, I have Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and they seem to improve every game and I have heard very good things about it. There should be demos on the PSN for some of these games.

1st off, stay away from the 1000 model.. The d-pad on that thing sucks, and gets in the way of gaming, and you can't plug it into a TV, and load times are longer than the newer models, and the screen makes moving colors bleed together.  Try to get a 2000, or 3000 model.  All that stuff is fixed in both of those versions.  Black PSPs are prone to fingerprints, try to get a silver one.

Try to get:

Megaman: Powered Up  (Has a level designing mode, and you can download and share creations, not very restricted, either)

Tekken: Dark Resurrection (Better than Tekken 5 on PS2)

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars

Daxter

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

Grand Turismo

Call of Duty (Forget which one, but, has an online multiplayer)

As for PSP add-ons:

Extended Life battery kit (Twice the battery life)

At least a 16GB memory stick (should store enough music, a couple movies, and plenty of room for other stuff)

As for programs on your comp:

Red Kawa PSP Video 9 (converts most video formats on your computer into a viewable format on your PSP, even resizes the video to fit.)

Things not to do with your PSP:

Drop somewhere it can't be retrieved.

Submerg in liquids.

Leave sitting in the eye of the open public without an arm strap attached to your arm and PSP.
