ya this game is brutal

Around the Network

the game is only as hardcore as the player....and wii sports resorts is not hardcore...The wii is called the casual system for a reason...most its gamerz are casual, not hardcore, thats the demographic nintendo is hitting...since the  most of gamerz are not hardcore, most games on the wii arent.

Get all the stamps in Wii Sports Resort, then you can try repeating that.

You just contradicted yourself unless you are trying to argue there are no hardcore gamers who own the Wii and play WSR.  A gaming website forum is not the place you want to try to argue that point.

The most hardcore part of getting full completion in Wii Sports Resort would be playing enough of the Cycling game to get all stamps.

I have full stamps in:
Swordplay Duels
Table Tennis
Island Flyover

Rate my hardcore.

i dont see how i contradicted myself, im saying the game can only be as harcore as the player, you cant call demon souls hardcore if the only people playing it play it once in a while and are never really going to finish it....im not saying every player on the wii is casual, but most are for sure casual, because thats the demographic nintendo is going for. you seem to take that as an offence, but really there is nothing wrong with casual gamerz, i applaud nintendo for bringing in a all types of gamers into the world of gaming. plus, if someone doesnt see that nintendo is going for a (casual/usually not the gamer type) market, they need to get theyre eyes checked lol, but once again there is nothing wrong with it.

Firstly I don't know how you thought I was offended but I still feel you contradicted yourself.  "The game is only as hardcore as the player and Wii Sports is not hardcore".  If a game is characterised by the usage habits of its players then Wii Sports Resort can't be considered not hardcore unless none of its users are hardcore.

I actually agree with you in that there are no hardcore games per se, only hardcore gamers, but there are certain games that lend themselves to being played and providing an ongoing challenge to the hardcore gamer.  The point of this thread as far as I can see is to hightlight, that despite appearances and common perception, WSR can in fact provide a challenge to the hardcore gamer and therefore can be considered a hardcore game.

Personally, I'll only agree about the "there are no hardcore games, only hardcore gamers"-notion if people will agree to Ninja Gaiden being an exception. Ninja Gaiden is a goddamned synonym to the word hardcore.

A hard game =/= a hardcore game.

Ninja Gaiden and Ikaruga can be played casually.

Pixel Art can be fun.
