Wow. My hype for this film keeps growing and growing.

Anyone else getting more pumped to see this? Discuss.

This is not suprising at all. Avatar has been on my radar for a very long time and James Cameron is one of the best director.

I made this post last month and I still believe it will happen:

Still looks like a Smurf NBA team

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
 — Pat Buchanan – A Republic, Not an Empire

I've been holding myself back on this one. If I allowed my anticipation to run rampant I risked deep disappointment.

Based on these reviews it seems that the world Cameron has created is up to all expectations I might have. But the story is not. Even one of the positive reveiws I looked at on RT talked about how cliche the villains are, and the story seems to be that way in general too. (The brief descriptions remind me of a truly bad film called Battle for Terra.)

I'll see it -- it's by all accounts a hell of a spectacle, and I DO want to see that world. But I'm not expecting much from the plot.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
