Forums - Gaming - PSN is too expensive, Xbox Live is cheaper.

You don't need to stare at TV while downloading things.

Play my LittleBigPlanet level: Mystic Runner. Thanks!

I make about +/- $21/hour I think (paid salary not hourly but probably comes out close to that) and Xbox Live Gold comes out to about $2.31 a month for me.

That means, as long as I'm saving 7 minutes over PSN, I've already made back my time by using Gold. From the slow downloads, navigating the terrible interface, synching, trying to get my trophy card to work, and update after update I think I make that time back.

Go update ure PS3 to 3.15 and ure syncing and trophy card problems will be fixed :)

This thread = EPIC FAIL

Time = Money.

The time it takes to get through 12 system updates, installing game demos, installing game patches which is greater than what it takes to do it on Xbox Live probably comes up to between 2-5 hours a year depending on what you're doing. Its not long enough to really effectively get up and do something else and not short enough that it wouldn't be a bother.

Now you have to decide whether you'll base it on your salary rate or the time you'd charge for giving up your leisure time. If your time isn't worth anything then you probably get your games from your parents.

But there you have it, PSN is probably more expensive than Live if you place a dollar value on your time.

I think most people would disagree. I don't - even 2 hours of wasted time a year (which is a lowball estimate.. even taking an extra 30 seconds per match over the course of a year adds up) makes it worth my while to just pay for Live. Then again, I have way more money than time. (Well, at home, at least.) I think most people don't consider time a factor... which is usually a rule of thumb as regards video games...

I'm envious of some VGC members stealth trolling abilities. I have much to learn.

Its funny i would have said the speeds on 360 were better but for some reason downloading takes forever now.Along time ago it wasnt that bad.As for the ps3 load times etc i hear ya that thing stole years off me.

My PS3 is completely up to date and my trophy card still isn't current.  >_>
