Forums - Nintendo - Will No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle outsell the original?

Well lets not forget the original had a quick price drop. Most of the copies sold was after it hit $30 and lower.

I'm curious to see how many copies it can actually sell at full price.

There is more competition now than when NMH came out, so in that respect it could sell less.

Assuming this will be better than the original (or at least as good, but also longer), then I think it will outsell the original as it has developed a fan base. It's the HD version that will not sell well.

This could end up selling well... maybe even 500-600k As Montana stated, this game seems to have a pretty loyal fanbase, and that will help. Not like it happened with games like Boom Blox

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

No reason that this game can't do similar sales patterns as uncharted to uncharted 2. If it is as improved as it seems on the surface and the story stays suda 51... then I can see it outselling the original easily with time. I want suda around, his brain is effed... we need these people in the gaming scene.
I am hoping for 250k - 300k at full price (may not happen but I'm optimistic).

Dunno, really dunno. I'm guessing it'll sell less, 'cos it's indeed kinda niche, and a sequel at that. I think some people might be hesitant to buy a sequel of they've never played the original, and I'm sure there'll be people who played the original but won't buy the sequel. Then again, you never know, especially with the Wii. We'll have to wait and see.

Also, like jlauro said, there's more competition now.

I regret making this my username, I made this name when I was 13 years old

Life could always get worse, you could be a mod for Neogaf

I think so. It's a different case from stuff like Boom Blox Bash Party. This one's getting a good measure of hype front-loaded, and it's appeal is such that a sequel will be more desirable. It's story-driven, to a point, so buyers won't see the cheaper prequel as an acceptable substitute.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Do u think all the left wing software for wii is creating a core base... Klonoa, shattered memories, lks, muramasa, well made railers, etc... I see core games getting better from here on out.

It could be less because people will wait for an HD port.

Could be more because there is more effort.

Could be about even because of both.

Who knows.

It'll be more fromt loaded than the first game, i think it should sell more if it's a good game.
