Forums - Gaming - Simon Cowell interested in videogames market

Simon was talking with Sony Europe about .... something.

"I said [to them]: 'Look at what we can do together. You've got massive manufacturing capability. You've got retail business. You've got PlayStation. You're one of the biggest TV suppliers in the world. He [Cowell] is one of the most watched men on TV!... Suddenly, people started to say: 'You're right.'"

Green believes that Cowell has huge potential in the video game market, "Look at Guitar Hero. It's a billion dollar business. [Simon's] got more viewers, more hits, more everything - and he hasn't even got a website!"

Cowell wouldn't be the first celebrity to try and cross over into gaming. Other big names include fashion designer Marc Ecko and former pitcher Curt Schilling. For his part, Cowell expects to have Greenwell Entertainment up and running early next year

I'd prefer a "America's next game designer" or something like that.... What can Sony and Cowell do together??

OMG that kind of a reality show would PWN!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Isn't Simon Cowell responsible for the largest amount of mediocrity ever put on television? Should we be excited about him doing it with a video game?

He's also responsible for the western FFXIII theme tune. T_T

He makes money, companies don't care about mediocrity if they have a huge bag of golden coins over their desks.

Someday I'd like the win the lottery and I'd have somebody make me an authentic bag of gold coins, with a big green dollar sign on it. That would be awesome. And you're right, corporations love mediocrity; the more people that like something means the less offensive it is, means the more boring it is. It's a pretty natural evolution. Look at Taylor Swift! (Where's Ps3 when I need him?)

I'd rather have Simon Cowell be a video game reviewer. He'd fit right in.
