@ coolbeans, concerning Rainbow Six, do you really think they can set a 3rd one in Vegas? 1 was fantastic, but in 2 you kind of felt like you were retreading old ground, but more TC games will certainly be coming next year!

Hmmm....you could be right, I forgot to consider that fact.  I would personally like another go at Vegas but some place like Tokyo or new casinos in Vegas would be awesome.

They tried to explore the seedier side in Vegas 2, but I didn't like that. I think more variety would be good. I did like the casino environment, but 3 games in the same city! It is too many

To each his own, I just enjoyed the first one so much that I wouldn't might another one set there or perhaps make it the main location for most missions but head to a few other locales as well.  I mean c'mon, this is the first story that hasn't stayed in Vegas .

shakes head....

I wouldn't mind a finale through the casinos, but the wow factor of gunning through casino is diminished after the 10th time. I don't think it was helped the sucky story. I was looking at the wiki page, and there is a whole section about continuity problems between the first 2 games

Yeah I noticed that too but most of those seem to be about R6's in the past gens, last I checked.  I guess it comes down to personal preference, but I don't think the wow factor has been that dimished personally.  They just need more dynamic set pieces that Call of Duty has done so well at.

Remeber there were flashbacks in RSV 2, and they had an interweaving story, that didn't quite weave...

Well RS doesn't need as many set pieces as CoD, much of the fun of the game is sneaking up and executing a well planned move

I've really only dived into R6V2's MP as of late since I'm replaying the 1st one on Realistic.

I didn't play the 2nd one much online, but I did play loads of the first one, which was quite fun, but no CoD. For my MP experiences, the incredibly hectic and frantic CoD is always going to win, with KZ 2 the only game that comes anywhere near close to MWs. The key for RSV for me was the single player mode, and they did a great job in terms of gameplay, but next time I just want a cohirent story and more varied environments, and then it truly would be a brilliant game, not just a great game

***I Predict!***

Resistance 3
Agent Release Date 2010
Starhawk
Twisted Metal

Gears Of War 3
Banjo & Kazooie / Kameo 2

Kindgom Hearts 3
GTAV
MW3 (Treyarch....you know it's going to happen, and it'll sell millions again..)

I'm Back! - Proud owner of the best doomed handheld of all time!

While I agree with most points, I still hold R6V in regard to the best FPS of this gen.  Although, CoD's fast pace is nice with the enjoyable adrenaline rush and all I just prefer the tactical side of things when it's done right in R6V (although no melee action stunk when you're in tight spots on MP).

Oh, I do like tactical shooters, but I think CoD MWs nail the line between Halo arcadey, which I don't like, and Rainbow Six, which I often think is slightly too slow paced for my liking. But I will certainly buy both, its just MW will keep me coming back for more and more and more and more...

Around the Network

- One or two remakes of LucasArts' classic adventures for PC, XBL, PSN, WiiWare, DSiWare. Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's Revenge is the obvious guess, but Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango or Full Throttle would be more surprising.
At the same time LA announce that prior to the release of the new remakes Secret of Monkey Island will come to PSN, WiiWare, DSiWare.

- Telltale announce that their next adventure games will be either in 2D or using a different 3D engine.

- SimCity 5

- Dungeon Keeper 3

- More interesting adventure games from European developers most VGC members have never heard of, such as Daedalic.

- thatgamecompany's next game for PSN; spiritual successor to Flower, but no sequel.

Hm...that's more a wishlist than a prediction...

Okay, here are some realistic predictions:
FIFA World Cup 2010, FIFA 11, PES 2011, Halo 4, Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Mario Party 9, Wave Race Wii, Warcraft 4 (scheduled for 2011, actual release date will be 2013)

I would like to see a new Ghost Recon.
But I predict:
Halo wars 2 (using natal)
Black 2
Mario and Luggi potty training
Conker
Gears 3
A new super IP from MS that realeses 3 years later (something like Alan Wake)
Mega AAA game from Sony that is not that good or a AAA (something like Warhawk)
Lots of great indie and DL games
Ninja Gay-den (since gaiden is taken) by MS studios and Itagaki
