Forums - Nintendo - Aonuma: Zelda Wii will fulfill what TP could not

http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=107105

Aonuma says that "With Twilight Princess, we challenged ourself to create the most vast and realistic world the series had ever seen, but we don't feel that we were able to fully complete this objective. With that as a starting point for our improvements to the series in the future, we are of course working on a new game for Wii."

He wants this game to be as memorable as Ocarina of Time, and realizes it was memorable because it set a new standard, and that this game should set a new standard.

HYPE!

With that as a starting point for our improvements to the series in the future, we are of course working on a new game for Wii. For any game to be remembered for a long time, just like Ocarina of Time was, the game must give the strong impression that it has set a new starting point for future sequels to build upon. We are working to further improve upon the experiences found in Twilight Princess so that our future games can realize these innovations." - Eiji Aonuma

I certainly hope so. I want to get the same feeling from this game as when I was playing TWW.

Same here, the first time you set sail with the music in the background

WOW.....that moment beat anything in OOT for me!!!!!!

For me it's not just sailing the first time, it was just sailing all around in different islands, exploring them, having enemies attack you, fighting them off, looking for treasure... <3

yer yer

but the experience of sailiing like that for the first time was the first time I ever experienced something like that in gaming, so it still stands out in my head!

But Twilight Princess fulfilled so much haha. It's one of the greatest games of all time. What else could the possibly fulfill. Oh this is why I love the Zelda franchise. they are always pushing the limits of the series and what they can accomplish while contributing to one of the most complex and interesting storylines ever. Can't wait til E3 2010.

My guess is bringing that huge world to life. So much of that space was unused except for creating a sense of space.

Balance Twilight Princess's epic, straightforward story, with a living, breathing world, and i'm good.
